The beauty world never ceases to surprise me. It feels like there is a new trend every other day and each of them is crazier than the one before. And the latest Insta-trend is “feather brows”.
A few days ago Stella Sironen, a Finnish makeup artist, jokingly shared an image on Instagram declaring that this is the new trend. But the internet took it seriously and the trend spread like wildfire.
Now more and more people are jumping on this trend train and sharing the results. Some people love it, some hate it with all their hearts but hey, it’s something new.

I think I might be the only one who thinks this is really cool! Sure, it's not practical or good for an everyday look, but like, that blue feather look is really awesome looking! People have to remember that makeup isn't always about like, every day same-old-same-old makeup. Makeup is artistry and it's fun and it's creative. Clearly almost all of these looks are more in that realm than they are in the realm of, "Going out with the friends tonight," kind of makeup.

I think there's a massive difference between makeup artistry on Instagram and "beauty gurus" doing product placement by overdrawing everything on their faces. Let's not generalize. IMO this was probably started as a fashion makeup concept but then people started overdoing it. Looks pretty c**p anyway

my aunt when she was young did something like this Her eyebrow won't grow in normal anymore and is stuck like this, only it looks like a huge bushy mustache over her eye, a feather like split going up and down, It's been like this since she was like 17-18 years old, she's in her late 60's now..... I guess it traumatized the brow or something {the other side has a scar across it and hair won't grow in it so it's slightly split in the middle too} I'm going to tell her the look is coming back lol Wish me good luck if you don't hear from me she killed me lol

I thought of a lot of words to describe this so called trend and not one of them was beautiful or attractive or current. I won't add the words I thought of, but I think they are the same ones that crossed yours as well. Somethings should not be done to the eyebrows, and that is absolutely one of them.

Who is even doing this? I've seen nobody do this, just seen the articles claiming this is a new trend. Theres no way this will last long. Plenty of females and even some males are crazy over plucking and keeping their eyebrows nice. I doubt they will stop. This is like one extreme to the other extreme and i'm sure businesses won't like their female workers looking like this because it looks unkept and messy. Honestly if this is to be the new thing, I think there would be a better chance of someone hiring me in a new job position that has to deal with the public quicker with my painted on eye brows vs someone with this and thats saying quite a lot. It looks as bad as the lollypop lips aka rash lips.

Please calm down folks! Every young generation is searching for something that shocks the older ones. It's just that rebellion thing. I know many comments said that this is awful or you cant understand it. I think it looks weird too, but if you stop to think about where anything we percieve as pretty or a conventional tradition comes from, feather eyebrows couldve been adopted as the "prettiest"- most "accepted" way to do your brows. It all depends on circumstance and our want to fit in socially. Why do we wear jewelry, clothes, or make any sort of fashion choice to begin with? Even alternative fashion ehich promotes themselves as misfits and unique still belong to some sort of alternative group that labels and define them (hipsters, goth, emo... whatever). Just a thought lol
