Artist Illustrates The Pressures She And Other Women Face From Society In 30 New Honest Comics
Society puts pressure on everyone: most are expected to be someone, do something and whatever else. But that does not mean that those expectations are valid, or if the pressure is really necessary. Who knows, perhaps we're forced to chase after goals that don't really reflect our true self, or even worse, we can lose our true selves whilst chasing them.
If that's the case, perhaps we need to do the opposite It's very important to continually deprogram ourselves from things that are not true, and in some cases even harmful. Therefore we need to find ways to heal ourselves from the harm that modern life may cause.

Which is why it's great to have artists like Lainey Molnar, who help others to do exactly that. She has a mission to point out all of the wrong and right things of what it means to be a woman at this day and age, and illustrates these things in a very accurate and aesthetic way. In her comics, she explores the topic of femininity, double standards, societal pressures, expectations, and various other problems that modern independent women face every day.
Yes. It's never about the clothes. You should be able to control yourself and your thoughts.
And many people are grateful that she's raising awareness on the aforementioned issues. In fact, she's really popular both amongst her fans on Instagram, and you, our beloved Bored Panda readers. What's great about these illustrations is that their tone isn't restricted to criticism and negative stuff. While she criticizes, which is an important and a difficult task in itself, she also promotes body positivity and mental wellbeing. She kindly reminds us not to follow norms which don't suit your natural needs, she reminds us that we're all beautiful and normal in our own special way. No size is wrong, no height is wrong, and no habit is disgusting. All of it is you, and you should accept that first and foremost. And if the other's can't accept that, we'll, sucks to be them.

Though the expectations and the pressure for women in our society may sometimes feel like they're crushing you, don't give up, girls. Just remember, diamonds are made under pressure. They're also a woman's best friend. This might be that extra bit of inspiration you may have wanted to hear to get out there and take over the world. Tread on, women!

The problem with Madonna, is that she is faking it. And that's what people critizise. ;)

I have to slightly disagree with this one. The problem with Madonna is she is holding on to something that is gone and is promoting some really bad choices. She is promoting what the entertainment industry pushes which is unrealistic beauty standards that can only be achieved by really expensive surgery and fillers. I am not against people augmenting their looks but if you are doing it to continue to "look young" to fit into a crazy industry and that is affecting teenagers to do some scary stuff to themselves then that's not okay.
Madonna only looks like that after the photo is edited. There's nothing wrong with Madonna looking old. She's 63. She's allowed to look 63. But she edits her photos to make it look like she's still 30. So women see them and think they need to look like that.
She has also had mad cosmetic enhancements that make her look bizarre. Her choice, but that is not “normal” aging.

In general, I agree. However, I do think that Madonna has taken it much too far with the fillers and implants. If you see her without photo filters, she's beginning to resemble Jocelyn Wildenstein.

disagree with this one....Madonna's not aging...she's fighting aging with plastic surgery and money-- nothing natural about that.. it's the very definition of artificial.

And yet I find Audrey Hepburn more beautiful than a lot of 20 years old. All of you are beautiful ladies no matter what and never doubt that. In terms of appreciate natural beauty always wins for me.

Madonna is very edited and just as wrinkled. She doesn't look like that.
except that is not how madonna would look like aged if she didn't practically plastified her face and edit her pictures. She is faking being young, humans age, accept it
I cannot agree on this one. Madonna literally looks younger than when she was actually young. Madonna is not embracing age, but hiding it under thousands of dollars worth of cosmetic procedures. She has the right to do what she wants with her bod, but cannot fool anyone anymore. Everyone ages, even pop stars.
Idk abt the Madonna one. Most of her photos are heavily photoshopped. I highly doubt she actually looks that young.
Audrey certainly had more character, and character is pretty darned sexy.

Perfectly valid way for a woman to age - me 65 - no makeup, super short light blue hair with dark blue, purple and hot pink streaks.
No. No. No. You don't compare a normal, average woman with a rich woman who has had facial procedures. NO!
Reality. The beauty of a woman changes over her life. Too much attention is given to the mastery of surgeons, and not enough to the beauty of a life survived. Filters, plasticity, and frankly money has altered the perception of grace and beauty granted to women growing into a life survived without a surgeons lives and plumps.
I think what the author means is that everyone can do whatever they want. I prefer the left.

Sorry, but it is a bit frustrating for some of us "olde fartes" who will never be able to afford a plastic surgeon to make us look young again.
Bro yes. I get really sweaty between and behind my thighs and oddly enough my inner elbow it’s uncomfortable so I always gotta cool down.
Our differences are what make us beautiful. The world would be boring if we were all the same!!!!!!
