Though we see our lives as mostly boring and "not much to write home about", we gladly want to see how others are living and what they're experiencing, even though they might see their lives to be as boring as we see ours. Perhaps those tiny little differences and the unfamiliarity with other people's lives are what attracts us to know more about them.
Let us introduce you to Promptlypaneled comics created by Xan that may satisfy your need to check up on how others are doing. Her comics range from relatable everyday life situations to particular experiences that the author has gone through from a feminist point of view. Take a peek!

Here's how Xan started the comic and how it's doing right now: "It started sometime in 2019 before the pandemic, and I believe it was 2020 once one of the comics went somewhat viral. It's happened a couple more times since and tends to bring in a few new followers, which is nice! The comics get re-uploaded a lot, which overall I don't mind, as long as the watermark is intact. If people want to see my full collection and follow for more, they can find my Instagram page. If they just enjoy the few very popular ones that get reuploaded, that's fine too! As for how the comic is doing now, I think it's doing okay enough. I'm trying to get in a better groove of frequent uploads, though as we're renovating our house on the side, it's difficult to balance at times. I hope to find that balance soon: there's no shortage of issues I want to discuss or stupid relatable events I've had happen!"
Xan likes to base the comics off of something that she personally experienced or went through, which is why many find it relatable. "I tend to make comics based on my own experiences. Working as a server, being a woman, dealing with (the aftermath of) the pandemic... I'm an unapologetic feminist and as such, if I had to pick one overarching theme, it's an ever-present veil of feminism."
Honey, if he’s so superficial that a couple pounds difference between a tinder photo and the actual person makes that his worst first date, then you telling him that is wasted breath. It will never sink in, and he will never understand it, because he has no inner life. He only skims the surface of life, with zero concern for deeper truths.
The artist believes that it's an important mission to talk about these issues. "Generally, I think there will always be a need to showcase women-centric struggles. The internet can be a very hostile space, and it seems to get worse every passing day. "Being a woman" isn't considered the social norm, despite making up 50% of the population, and because of that, a woman's voice is easily drowned out online. Even with my comics, people often assume I'm a man, even though the character is clearly not. I'd love for us as a society to move forward to a world where being online does not automatically mean being a man."
their job is not to date you it is to ring up your items and say "have a good day"
This is an innocent question, but more often than not i have been asked probing questions to discern where i live or what car i drive. "Do you live around here" "what time are you off shift" "what time do you start your shift" "do you have a boyfriend" and my favorite follow up to the last question "how long have you been together" probing questions are a huge red flag
i’m sorry but i’m a bit in the middle of this one. i don’t really see a problem with asking someone out, but if they say know, politely apologize and tell them to have a good day. i guess in my opinion it’s fine, just don’t take it too far
When you work as a service provider you need to be so careful with your answers as to not upset a customer that the worker might feel pressured into giving their number although they don't really want to. A way to go might be for the customer to hand her a piece of paper with his number and leave it up to her if she wants to contact him.
Load More Replies...Why? So no person who works in retail is ever allowed to meet their eventual SO while at work? That seems arbitrary and ridiculous. How about don't continue to ask if someone says no.
How about don't try to get someones contact detail before knowing anything else about them?
Load More Replies...I told them I didn't have a cellphone, but if he'd give me his he'd already know the number. Didn't work, I wonder why?
I fully agree with this, even if it was ment to be a joke: im not there to be laughing at cheap jokes. Im working, if you need help with our services: i will gladly help, otherwise spare your fake attention on my free time - in which you will never meet me. Very often done by adult women (30~40) or drunk youngsters (20~30).
I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this, but if a number was politely asked for and politely rejected I'm not sure what the problem is. It's ok to tell someone you are interested in them even if they aren't in you.
I encountered this guy a lot at my first job. He was easily in his 50s, I was 19.
I'm loving how everybody expressing different opinions is getting thumbs down. You people only want to meet others through tinder, now. Well go ahead, don't blame us for having different wants, though. I don't mind getting approached on work and I don't get offended at everything
I had a guy do this to me when I was working the drive thru window. He walked across the whole parking lot and wouldn't leave till I faked giving him my number.
Yeah, some people love playing the victim card, seeing offense in every situation.
I was a salesman and my now wife asked me out. I had been approached at least 3 other times before as a salesman and declined, no harm no foul. Said yes to her and we've been together now 10 years. There's a hang up between the generations were the previous gen didn't have all the social media accounts so you would ask strangers and it worked or didn't. Today ppl want to have the whole bio on someone before you approach? That's so boring and you never get to meet new people.
Ok wait what? He asked you out. He didn't rob you or insult you. Wow. Just wow. Simply saying you're not interested is enough. Some workers may actually be interested in meeting new people so font make life harder for them.
Those who are interested can actually approach people themselves ... and customers can leave far easier than workers.
Load More Replies...Ask a girl who’s interested not someone who’s working and has to interact with you in a friendly manner as part of their job. Not sure why this is confusing to men. It’s like you know they are not interested but you ask because you know they can not be anything but nice about it or risk their job which is kinda pathetic on the mans part.
Load More Replies...This one is sexist. Guys aren't allowed to show interest in women at all? F**k that.
Sometimes love hits where it is not appropriate. Asking out a service worker is therefor not a bad thing per se. Also this applies to male *and* female customers. To even make it worse .. colleagues.
Women: Urgh, don't ask me out without my consent Also women: why is no-one asking me out?
The service industry is a job like any other. If a guy fancies his proctologist or his arresting officer, should he schedule more colonoscopies or commit more arson? It does feel good when an attractive server smiles and shares a joke with you, but that is just them being good at their job and should not be taken as permission to hang around the place like a big weirdo. Don't give stalking a chance.
Load More Replies..."Bringing up women's issues can have a very strong reaction online. The loudest voices don't make up the majority of actual opinions, but they serve to keep women down and quiet, preventing these issues from being discussed openly. And if we don't talk about something, it goes unnoticed. That's no way to live. A simple comic is easy to read, easy to share and easy to relate to. In that way, I think they can help in getting a discussion started. Even if that means some people bring in a lot of negativity. Let them! It's part of the progress."
Here are Xan's plans for the future, and the future is looking interesting, so keep an ear out. "I'm writing a rough outline for a bigger comic project, about my experience with life coming out of an abusive relationship in the past. I have yet to find the perfect tone for it: as it is, it's too dramatic for my taste, and it'll take a few rewrites before I can take it to the next level.
As for slightly less depressing plans, honestly, part of me wants to animate some content. I haven't animated something for myself since college and I quite miss it! So some short-video-form content might be a nice addition. Though it would require making a TikTok account, which is terrifying for someone who's pushing 30, like me."
Stardew Valley is for everyone, include all types of games. Everyone is a real gamer now and then
If you like it, drink it, it doesn't matter if it is a cheap or expensive wine or beer.
Yeah. Like when you see your therapist and they ask and you feel tears burning and sort of get angry because you tried to hold it in because you have things to do after (before you can go home and cry it out in the shower).
I do love an Incel screeching that no one will date him because he is short, but in the same breath insisting he'll only date a size 4 with big boobs. It's not your height, my dude, it's your whole personality.
I had a twitter DM from a dude saying "Hey can' I ask you something?" and I thought "Oh this'll be good". Turned out I'd posted a photo with a plant in the background and he wanted to know what kind it was so he could get one. Unexpected! Cheered me up all week.
I will die on that hill, it tastes bad for me not sure for others
Went out with a guy like this decades ago; only went out ONCE. He actually made the young server tear up because he was such an a*s. As we were leaving, I excused myself after he paid because I "forgot" something. Was going to personally apologize, but couldn't find them. Left the kid a huge tip (about 60%). Don't know that it solved the problem but I hope it helped.
I thought the existential issues and anxiety were essential to just living. I must be doing it wrong. Jk.
That’s a manager who’s not paying any attention to his employees on the floor. If he had, he’d know she had already done a lot already and all by herself, so she deserves some down time. But no, he assumes——and it only makes an a*s out of him.
Not all makeup suits everyone! I like lipstick, but not reds and pinks. BLACK AND PURPLE ALL THE WAY!!!!
I mean people have their own opinions but if someone disrespects ANYTHING I enjoy, They. Are. F*****g. Dead
I think its important to let know imbecile men still exist and I think its pretty daring to let lnow the stuff rhey did in the past, but the author cant stop seeing man as enemy in half her comics.
