Chris Martin And Dakota Johnson Are Engaged: ‘I Could Watch Him Every Day’

After a six-year romance, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson are ready to take their relationship to the next level. The couple is now engaged and has the thumbs up from Chris’ ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, and their two children, Apple and Moses.

“The couple got engaged a while ago and have kept the news private. But now they are being open about it with their circles. They have been besotted with each other from day one, so taking this next step was inevitable,” a source told Mirror.

The report comes just days after Dakota shared that she’s embracing the idea of motherhood.

“I’m so open to that. I’ve gotten to this place where I really want to experience everything that life has to offer. And especially being a woman, I’m like, ‘What a magical f—–g thing to do. What a crazy, magical, wild experience.’ If that’s meant to happen for me, I’m totally down for it. I’ve been really tripping out recently, like, we’re not here for very long. There’s so much to eat up and learn and grow from and experience and feel,” she told Bustle.

“That includes all the pain and the suffering and feeling so helpless about the world. Most days, I feel like the most useless piece of sh–. I’m sitting in this dumb— chair, talking about this dumb— movie, and there are people in excruciating catastrophes, and what can I do? I do have that incredible friction in myself. And then I’m like, ‘We’re not here for very long, so if I’m meant to be a mother, bring it on,'” the actress added.

When asked about whether she likes being a stepmother to Chris’ children, the Madame Web actress said, “I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.”

She also mentioned that she could watch her now-fiancé Chris perform on stage every single day.

“I love watching him. I could watch him every day. I don’t know how to explain it. I feel like, I don’t know… I’m watching my most favorite being do his most favorite thing,” she told the outlet.

The couple sparked dating rumors in 2017, a few years after the musician’s split with Gwyneth in 2014.

Gwyneth has had only good things to say about Dakota in the past and once said, “We’re actually very good friends.”

“I love her so much,” Gwyneth added and described Dakota as “an adorable, wonderful person.”
