Cat owners will agree that a cat’s respect and affection is usually something you have to earn over time. However, this cat named Tuna proves us all wrong as she shows affection even to those she doesn’t know, especially the deliverymen who provide services for her owners. Her acts of friendliness are well-documented by pictures and security cameras.

Tuna the cat even has her own Instagram account where she showcases her quite sassy personality. The account has over a thousand followers who seem to enjoy the furry influencer’s pictures accompanied by witty captions.

Tuna’s owner spoke to Bored Panda: “We were originally just babysitting her for a friend when she was a kitten and they never got her back. She’s around 6 years old. When the pandemic started, we were working from home a lot more and ordering a lot of delivery, so her sleep schedule changed and she would wait outside for delivery people! We always watch her on the camera and never let her out when we aren’t home. She loves people!”

When asked about Tuna’s unique name, her owner told Bored Panda: “Her original name when we were only cat-sitting her was Luna. That turned into Looney, then Looney Tunes, then Tunes, then Tuna. She does answer to her name when we call her to come in.”

“Before we started letting her outside, it was her life’s mission to destroy everything we owned,” explained Tuna’s owner. “Specifically, around 5 am. Now that she gets her supervised outside time, she seems to not really have those tendencies and spends the rest of the day napping or lounging around near us. She does wake us up meowing around 5-6 am every night but eventually gives up and cuddles till we get up.”

Tuna probably wishes she had opposable thumbs to bring this all inside

On her own Instagram profile, Tuna seems to be a pretty adventurous cat in general

According to her owner, Tuna was always extremely social and has never been afraid of dogs or people: “Tuna grew up with two dogs, Baxter and Bella. Baxter passed away earlier this year and was Tuna’s closest sibling, they even drank water together from the same bowl. She also lives with a bearded dragon, Colonel Mustard. She really showed the dogs who’s the boss when she was a kitten so Bella respects her and is still afraid of her even though Tuna now just wants to hang out and cuddle.”

Since Tuna has her own Instagram account, we asked her owner about whether they have plans to work on it and make Tuna an established “cat influencer”. Turns out, “Tuna’s ‘parents’ have full-time jobs running a company, so her Instagram growth is going to have to continue being organic.”

I work with artificial intelligence and image editing to create what I always wondered as a child: how would our favorite characters look in real life? Over time, many of my artworks have gone viral and were featured in international publications. I have recreated realistic versions of cartoon characters such as Disney and The Simpsons, imagined how celebrities who died young would look today, and even gave modern faces to historical figures like Mona Lisa or Shakespeare. My male cat is like this. I'll take him out for a walk and he'll drag me down the sidewalk to meet some total stranger coming the other way.
