All Adverts In London’s Underground Station Have Been Replaced With Cat Pictures

If you arrived at Clapham Common tube station one morning to find that every advert had been replaced with pictures of cats, you’d no doubt logically conclude that our feline friends paid for the initiative as part of their first steps towards world domination. And in a way you’d be right, because the stunt was indeed paid for by CATS. But fortunately for us, that’s where the conspiracy ends, because CATS stands for the Citizens Advertising Takeover Service, and they’re the team responsible for this rather bizarre campaign.

It was funded via Kickstarter by almost 700 people who pledged over 23k GBP to get the project up and running, and as organizer James Turner noted in a blog, “This isn’t a clever marketing stunt. The people behind it are volunteers. We want to inspire people to think differently about the world and realize they have the power to change it.” So for the next two weeks, Clapham Common won’t just be serving the Northern Line. It’ll also be serving the FE-line!

It's definitely a better sight than actual ads but why? Now if these cats were adoptables, waiting in shelters for new homes, that would really serve a purpose.

I hated being assaulted by adverts for tights and Barratt style homes in South Woodham Ferrers when I lived in London and it wore me down on top of the pollution, crowds and people rushing everywhere. Who would want to live in South Woodham Ferrers in a house that you can't afford, where there is nothing to do and a longer commute to work in the City?

When "Let's do something really helpful with the money is overruled (or overpurred?) with: "awww". No, let's rather..."awww". Nevermind. (Awww) (The I am still in favor of puppy and kitten rooms in schools and universities...)

We are here. World dominasjun is inevitable. Lol... lovely initiative. I think this brings a smile to the faces of a lot of commuters so I fail to see why some consider this a waste of money.

Yes!!!! I hope they make it permanent. Let's transform them all, some with more cats, some with dogs, some with wildlife and other pets. And pix of kids. And awesome seniors! What better way than ads to make us think of our relationship with, and the beauty of, our fellow creatures.

... well this was a waste of time and money..why not make an advertising campaign for it? why not help people be aware of pet in shelters waiting to be adopted.
