Cards Against Humanity Bought A Piece Of US-Mexico Border So Trump Can’t Build His Wall, And Here’s How
Cards Against Humanity, the self-described “party game for horrible people” is doing something totally not horrible. Notorious for its crazy marketing campaigns, the company announced a holiday promotion called “Cards Against Humanity Saves America”. Basically, the company purchased a plot of vacant land on the border of the United States of America and Mexico, preventing Donald Trump from building his wall.
“Donald Trump is a preposterous golem who is afraid of Mexicans,” the company writes. “He is so afraid that he wants to build a twenty-billion-dollar wall that everyone knows will accomplish nothing. So we’ve purchased a plot of vacant land on the border and retained a law firm specializing in eminent domain to make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for the wall to get built.”
In December, for $15, the company will send customers six “America-saving surprises” right to their doorstep. The first one will include a map of the plot on the border, some new cards for the game, and a few other goodies. In a spoof explanation video, the game is giving a piece of land to all people who took part in the promotion, meaning that if the US government wanted to construct the border wall, it would have to drag every individual to court. “It will be fun, it will be weird, and if you voted for Trump, you might want to sit this one out.” The promotion sold out on its first day.

Yeah, right. Dream on. The biggest surprise will be Donald Trump actually SAVING America from fools aka snowflakes. Any so-called unclaimed land along the border is owned by the US government. Or else it would be all claimed by now, just think of the commercial value of that land if corporations could own it. American companies who defected to Mexico due to high US taxes, like Hershey, and many others would have a processing and/or distribution plant just on the Mexican side of the border, with US distribution and delivery directly on the US side. You don't see that too much, cuz the US government has jurisdiction over the land on the US side, and would do little good the companies based in Mexico.

That's a ballsy move. I'm sure people on one side will buy the game based on it, but remember that this move is against the party that was just elected, so it's going against just as many people. If I had a company (especially one built on something really offensive, ironically enough) I'd keep politics the hell out of it. I've played Cards Against Humanity and I laughed my a*s off.....because it's offensive. I think the founders should've done this campaign as a personal sidepiece and kept the company out of it. I lose respect for companies that suddenly hitch to one particular cause and go to war over it. It's like when someone goes to a comedy club and laughs at the gay joke, the racial joke, but then gets offended when it comes to the fat joke and they're suddenly outraged.

Imminent Domain is real and it’s on all borders and everywhere you look. If you think that property backs directly up to a federal fence keeping illegals out and it’s yours, you have lost your minds! The country has leeway so your property will still have the law driving on this side of that fence and the entire length of it and besides what kind of idiot wants illegal aliens to come over. This is a publicity stunt. The only thing they're doing is piggybacking on the controversy surrounding the wall to garner attention so that they can make more sales. Realistically, it's a joke because legally they can't use their little piece of property to let anyone in or out - not without legal repercussions, so what's the point? Furthermore, the wall, if it ever does even get built (which is unlikely to begin with precisely because of private property rights issues), would only be built on key locations across the border that are known smuggling, illegal immigration hot spots. Private property rights is already an issue - Cards Against Humanity didn't invent it by buying a piece of border property and touting themselves as everyone's savior. They're simply capitalizing on an opportunity to market their product. Trump would be proud. Big wup.

Silly. If the wall ever does get built, it'll just curve around them. The chunk it takes out of the US will be negligible. BTW, the Dineh indians already own land that straddles the border -- and they *want* the wall; they're determined that it will take a chunk out of Mexico, so CAH's piece will be (at least) balanced out. I bet you didn't know that the people who really, *really* hate Mexicans are the Indian tribes! It's true. The Pueblo-nation tribes have been fighting with Mexico (first the Aztecs, then the Conquistadors) since at least 1200 CE. It's a pity that nobody asks the Indians about *their* history, which would shed considerable light on modern politics.

All he has to do is apply the Eminant Domain Law and build it in the easements of the land, and there isn't one thing they can do about it~too bad those GREAT ATTORNEY's didn't tell you that BEFORE you purchased the land. I know we had our home bought by a gov agency exactly that way, but instead of them using the easement I told them to buy the whole lot! and they did, now there is a walkway and a bridge there. I am all for legal immigration which means people from other countries can come here and work on becoming a legal citizen of the United States of America. I am not for illegal immigrants whatsoever and that is the biggest problem on the borders of both Canada and Mexico. I used to live really close to the Mexican border. Hell I used to go party in Mexico back in my heyday every weekend. It was a blast! But I will not tolerate anyone who comes to this country looking for a free ride, to escape prison and/or to commit crimes over here. If some of you would remember you 7th grade government class no one can buy any property right on the border with Mexico. Why you ask? It's called the Roosevelt Reservation. Where as, the federal government owns the first 60 feet of land at the Mexico/ US border. Even California the federal government owns that land as well. All you people did was keep a failing company from falling down faster. However, I do enjoy CAH very funny game.

Hate to bust your bubble, but if the government wants a part or all of your property they can legally get it whether you want to sell it or not. You need to check the laws of this country. If you refuse their offer for the property all they have to do is give you fair market price for it and you can refuse all you want, but they will get it.

Second, walls along borders have been proven time and time again to do NOTHING to stop criminals and criminal activities. In terms of illegal immigrants, the vast majority of whom are only criminals because they came to the country illegally, over 2/3rds of them came into the country legally and never left, the vast majority of whom FLEW into the country, something a wall will not stop. Then, of course, you can dig under the wall, something El Chapo is famous for, doing nothing to stop criminals from coming into the country. And finally, drug cartels, which have tens of billions of dollars available to them, can easily bribe border guards to just let them through. All this wall will accomplish is strain relationships with one of our largest trading partners, INCREASE criminal activity, and waste billions on a project that will effectively do nothing to stop what it intends to stop.

FIrst off, this is CAH, not some liberal organization intent on stopping Trump. This was a part of a publicity stunt that they do every year to sell more cards at Christmas, this is the first time they made it political, though, mainly because it would sell more cards. Second, they never stated they would STOP the wall from being built, merely make it a hassle. Third, the package comes with multiple goodies, not just the plot of land in the promo. Fourth, if you actually believe anything CAH says, you are clearly not too familiar with their sense of humor, meaning you probably wouldn't be buying their games anyway so they really don't care much about your opinion.

Then they will have to create an easement for the owners of the land. In case you might not know what that means, it would essentially be a path of access to let the landowners out. They can’t trap them behind the wall with no way out. And that would make the function of that portion of the wall useless.

Or else it would be all claimed by now, just think of the commercial value of that land if corporations could own it. American companies who defected to Mexico due to high US taxes, like Hershey, and many others would have a processing and/or distribution plant just on the Mexican side of the border, with US distribution and delivery directly on the US side. You don't see that too much, cuz the US government has jurisdiction over the land on the US side, and would do little good the companies based in Mexico.

That's a ballsy move. I'm sure people on one side will buy the game based on it, but remember that this move is against the party that was just elected, so it's going against just as many people. If I had a company (especially one built on something really offensive, ironically enough) I'd keep politics the hell out of it. I've played Cards Against Humanity and I laughed my a*s off.....because it's offensive. I think the founders should've done this campaign as a personal sidepiece and kept the company out of it. I lose respect for companies that suddenly hitch to one particular cause and go to war over it. This is a publicity stunt. The only thing they're doing is piggybacking on the controversy surrounding the wall to garner attention so that they can make more sales. Realistically, it's a joke because legally they can't use their little piece of property to let anyone in or out - not without legal repercussions, so what's the point? Furthermore, the wall, if it ever does even get built (which is unlikely to begin with precisely because of private property rights issues), would only be built on key locations across the border that are known smuggling, illegal immigration hot spots. Silly. If the wall ever does get built, it'll just curve around them. The chunk it takes out of the US will be negligible. BTW, the Dineh indians already own land that straddles the border -- and they *want* the wall; they're determined that it will take a chunk out of Mexico, so CAH's piece will be (at least) balanced out. I bet you didn't know that the people who really, *really* hate Mexicans are the Indian tribes! It's true. The Pueblo-nation tribes have been fighting with Mexico (first the Aztecs, then the Conquistadors) since at least 1200 CE. It's a pity that nobody asks the Indians about *their* history, which would shed considerable light on modern politics.

All he has to do is apply the Eminant Domain Law and build it in the easements of the land, and there isn't one thing they can do about it~too bad those GREAT ATTORNEY's didn't tell you that BEFORE you purchased the land. I am all for legal immigration which means people from other countries can come here and work on becoming a legal citizen of the United States of America. I am not for illegal immigrants whatsoever and that is the biggest problem on the borders of both Canada and Mexico. I used to live really close to the Mexican border. Hell I used to go party in Mexico back in my heyday every weekend. It was a blast! But I will not tolerate anyone who comes to this country looking for a free ride, to escape prison and/or to commit crimes over here. If some of you would remember you 7th grade government class no one can buy any property right on the border with Mexico. Why you ask? It's called the Roosevelt Reservation. Where as, the federal government owns the first 60 feet of land at the Mexico/ US border. Even California the federal government owns that land as well. All you people did was keep a failing company from falling down faster. However, I do enjoy CAH very funny game.

Hate to bust your bubble, but if the government wants a part or all of your property they can legally get it whether you want to sell it or not. You need to check the laws of this country. If you refuse their offer for the property all they have to do is give you fair market price for it and you can refuse all you want, but they will get it.

Second, walls along borders have been proven time and time again to do NOTHING to stop criminals and criminal activities. In terms of illegal immigrants, the vast majority of whom are only criminals because they came to the country illegally, over 2/3rds of them came into the country legally and never left, the vast majority of whom FLEW into the country, something a wall will not stop. Then, of course, you can dig under the wall, something El Chapo is famous for, doing nothing to stop criminals from coming into the country. And finally, drug cartels, which have tens of billions of dollars available to them, can easily bribe border guards to just let them through. All this wall will accomplish is strain relationships with one of our largest trading partners, INCREASE criminal activity, and waste billions on a project that will effectively do nothing to stop what it intends to stop.

FIrst off, this is CAH, not some liberal organization intent on stopping Trump. This was a part of a publicity stunt that they do every year to sell more cards at Christmas, this is the first time they made it political, though, mainly because it would sell more cards. Second, they never stated they would STOP the wall from being built, merely make it a hassle. Third, the package comes with multiple goodies, not just the plot of land in the promo. Fourth, if you actually believe anything CAH says, you are clearly not too familiar with their sense of humor, meaning you probably wouldn't be buying their games anyway so they really don't care much about your opinion.

These guys need to read up on the concept of Imminent Domain. Trump will build his wall, and there are legal precedents in place that will allow that to happen. Always remember, like it or hate it, the Federal Government has the power to legally seize property. After all, they write the laws.

Then they will have to create an easement for the owners of the land. In case you might not know what that means, it would essentially be a path of access to let the landowners out. They can’t trap them behind the wall with no way out. And that would make the function of that portion of the wall useless.
