You’re Never Too Old To Live Your Dream! I’m 39 And Self-Taught

Hi! My name is Lynn Hetherington Becker, and I am a self-taught body painting artist in Columbus, OH. I am 39 years old. I was always obsessed with beautiful drawings and art growing up as a child and a teen. I missed out on an opportunity to attend art school and had my daughter at the age of 21, and spent the beginning of my adult life working in call centers.

After having three children and experiencing the end of my marriage, I had to decide what to do with my life. I decided to try and reconnect with my unique art - my first love - and I'm so glad that I did! I started selling my colorful drawings, and people bought them! I did body drawings and face paintings for churches and friends and decided to make a go of it professionally to supplement my income. A year later, I have a high clientele base, and I realized a have a huge passion for body art. I absolutely love it! I was discovered on Instagram by a television show called Skin Wars and was contacted by a casting director. Although my life right now doesn't leave me the room to be able to travel to CA to try out that opportunity it was immensely flattering, and I hope to be on the show someday!

I currently love painting backs the best, and I also adore painting on baby bellies - prenatal belly paintings. I also recently painted a staircase that I love that was picked up by many pages. I also love doing detailed drawings of pets. I would love the opportunity to share my cool art and my story with more people! I'll be 40 next year, and I encourage everyone always to follow their dreams. My life didn't unfold in the way I anticipated, but it's so full of amazing people and blessings, and I get to share my art with the world! Thank you!
