Thinking outside the box is a quality well appreciated nowadays and while it may seem to be harder and harder every day to come up with something worthwhile, some people constantly have their heads spinning around something unheard of. Or maybe these “eureka” moments are all shower thoughts for all that we know. All jokes aside, these two people on Tumblr came up with a simple yet genius idea of how to survive a zombie apocalypse. And while it may not be a common topic, they really are onto something!

Please don't wear a suit of armour in the zombie apocalypse, you're going to get infected and you'll be difficult for us survivors to kill. When the apocalypse comes, I'll be inside one of those giant inflatable balls, I'll be bouncing over the undead. Hahaha...

And the zombie thinks: "great meals on wheels" and "who brought the can-opener?"

Platemail isn't actually super heavy. A toned adult can wear a full suit without being slowed down, or even having their agility hampered. They tested this, you can do some surprising athletics in a full suit of armor. I also have a hard time believing a horde of rotting bodies could pull armor apart if steel weapons can't, all while being hacked to bits with a sword. Or better yet, the ultimate zombie killing implement, the Chainsaw - let that image sit in your head for a while. Knight with a Chainsaw, chopping up zombies. Rip and Tear, kids. But lo, as we all know and as the last comment pointed out, the real threat in zombies is the humans and that puts a spanner in the works.

I own some plate mail parts myself. Still, most of my armor is made of leather, but mostly for cost reasons. A full plate mail is really expensive cause it is always handmade and has to been adapted. But you are right, you can move pretty good when the weight is distributed evenly across your body. A backpack with the same weight but only on your back is harder to carry.

Full plate is not needed the shark suit idea is the right direction. Shark suit with a helmet with full face shield should keep protected from the zombies add bullet resistant body armor to protect from the a******s. finish out suit with a undergarment that is exercise type and use a camelback water system.

I'm about ready to give up on The Walking Dead. They are constantly doing face palm dumb sh#t all the time. Not sure how we're meant to believe they've survived for as long as they have. Also, all you really need to be able to do is walk at a slightly fast pace and you'll stay well ahead of the hordes. A bit of stamina training, a freaking long handled sharp thing (not a small knife you idiots), comfortable joggers (Docs are probably a bit too hard to run in)and some sensible sun-safe clothing and you'll be whistling your way to a bright future.

There wouldn't be any shows/movies if every character behaved logically and/or sensibly.

Solution... wait a month or two and that's it it's all over as they have rotted away, been eaten by wildlife/insects and so on

I read somewhere that, if a human were to become a zombie, there would be no mental limitations holding us back. So like when a mother can lift a car off of her child in an emergency. Our bodies don't usually let us use our full potential as we can damage ourselves severely, so if those limitations did not exist (i.e. we are zombies) we could probably easily tear through a suit of armour. Cons of that would be that the zombie's muscles etc. would probably snap and it would be unable to move/bite or do much damage at all. So in the grand scheme of things, there would probably be fewer victims than expected as zombie bodies would break themselves / possibly decompose in hot weather.
