As A Child, Jason Arday Was Developmentally Delayed And Couldn't Speak Until He Was 11. He Didn't Learn To Read Or Write Until He Was 18. He Just Became The Youngest Black Professor Ever At Cambridge University
People who can't communicate often have the most to say when they finally can.
It sounds like he just refused to learn anything just to give himself a challenge when he decided to start.
Been Estranged From My Family For Several Years. So, I Got Myself Family For Birthday This Year

Mongolian Girl Has A Laugh With Her Camel
I want a camel. Actually, I like the idea of having a camel but now I remember that they can be vicious little buggers who bite and spit. Same as llamas really.
The Gift Of Giving:
I’ve seen this multiple times but it gets me emotional every time. What a kind and thoughtful mum ❤️
This Is Adorable!!
What is cute about tormenting an animal? You know how this picture makes me feel? Stressed. I feel stressed for the cat.
Keanu Crashes Wedding, Pure Magic!
I disliked him when I was younger -- I have no idea why, aside from I was clearly a moron back then. He seems like a lovely guy.
As far as I know he is the nicest, most wholesome dude in Hollywood. He wholeheartedly adopted the "Be Excellent to Each Other" mindset of Ted.
Everything I hear about this guy is wholesome. I really hope nobody hurts his dog....
He Made The Right Move
You would be surprised to learn most humans are more than happy to help another human that asks.
Apart from those with the money and power to help millions of others.

Congratulations on your will to live. I'm very proud of you surfacing after that bad time. You should join the semi-colon group. I did, and when I get a little overwhelmed, just looking at my tattoo helps alot.
I don't have a semi-colon but my right arm is covered in tattoos from wrist to elbow for a reason. Glad you are still here, keep the faith and stay strong

A Museum Being Incredibly Wholesome To A Child
You know how we get adults who are interesting and engaged with the world? By getting them to be interested and engaged with the world as children. By doing this, the museum has planted a seed of interest in museums and their importance.

I’ve Been Really Sick Recently And Can’t Leave The House, My Dad Said He Was Leaving For A Few Minutes. Got These Pics From Him As He’s Coming Home With The Game I’ve Been Saving Up For And Taco Bell
Well... depends on the type of sick that the poster was experiencing. Eg: Asthma: You'd still be able to play, just have to pause every so often to take your puffer/nebuliser. I mean, sure, for a stomach ache, I wouldn't want to be around personally, but there are a lot more ways you can be 'sick' without puking.

Auguri means best wishes in italian, so I guess he is from Italy like me :)
To convincingly fake a removal of driving rights document, you probably need to have already seen one. Mmm.
My Hotel Room Cleaner Made Me A Towel Animal, And Over The Next Weeks He Left Them There Until It Became A Towel Zoo
I was staying in the Hilton hotel in Riyadh for several weeks for work, and my hotel room cleaner from Nepal left me a towel animal. I left him a note asking if he could leave it there the next time he cleaned my room, and he did. And over several weeks the collection kept growing until the day I checked out. Such a nice highlight to my extended stay and I left him a little hamper of snacks and a tip to say thank you (there was actually at least six more animals he made but they slowly lost their shape over time).
My family has a housecleaning service and we literally bought a how-to book on towel animals for our employees XD We don't do it all the time or in all our houses (because it CAN get obnoxious, and a lot of customers don't want you randomly folding their personal towels into teddy-bears) but we usually fold turkeys around Thanksgiving and rabbits around Easter, etc! XD

I'm Part Of A Volunteer Group That Cleans Up The St Louis Area. Here Are Some Before/Afters Of A Project We Did This Weekend
See, THIS is what patriots do. Not pinning an effing flag to every street lamp and letting it rot (something for my UK compatriots).
If you tried cleaning up in the UK you'd get fined or arrested, it's happened no end of times.

6 Years Clean Today
That is what getting clean/sober will do for you XD I'm coming up on 6 years clean myself, and 43 and definitely don't look it - I'm not trying to say I look GOOD or attractive, mind you - I have a gigantic forehead, frizzy hair, and a derp face, but I don't look my age since I've gotten clean XD

Jeff And Baby Jeff
When I took Lucanis into the vet last week, the poor vet tech struggled with his name when she first tried to call us up (she said "Lucius" and then "Louis" - it's pronounced "Loo-con-iss" but I don't expect people to know that, since it's a video game character, lol.) I said, "just call him Woo-woo, that's what I call him 99% of the time" XD (Lucanis -> Woocanis -> Woo-woo.) I rarely call any of my pets by their ACTUAL names - most of the time they get called a silly nickname XD The techs have also struggled with my dogs' names, Stilgar and Fenring (both characters from my favorite book) - now they now it's really "Stilly" and "Dingus" XD
We had a cat named Dashielle Hameater, named after author Dashielle Hammett, the guy who wrote the Maltese Falcon and Thin Man. It's an obscure name/reference. One day his name was called at the vet and a super little old lady just brightened up and said "Oh, like the writer!" - It was like suddenly she was on the inside of a joke and she had a huge smile. He was awesome and we miss him still.

My Friend Is Now Cancer Free After Years Of Battling
My great nephew is jut about to be declared free this coming year. He's 11, and has had 3 years of hell, but I think he's going to be ok!
My Dad's Response To My Dog's Cancer Recurrence
Having a supportive family is the best. You're supported and Kaylee is nurtured by your family.
Agreed. My family was the opposite and it was AWFUL. My GSD was diagnosed with mammary tumors (basically the dog version of breást cancer) when she was 12, and my mom acted like her cancer was contagious. She kept trapping her on the side of the house (where she could bleach the floor easily) when I wasn't at home, and wouldn't touch her or pet her. It was horrible - I was already going through so much emotional pain knowing I'd have to euthanize her soon (she was too old for effective treatment) and my mother was telling me to "kíll her before she makes the rest of us sick and we catch it too".
Load More Replies...Did you know that it has been proven that people are more likely to share bad news online than positive stories? My Parents Kidnapped My Stuffed Elephant
Ha, we have some plushies in our group and they are pretty well travelled... one even got quietly kidnapped and went on a tour of Asia for 6 months. And just when Bear thought he was getting him back, there was a bus stop trade and he then went to Egypt right after with me.

My Mom Who Has Hardly Ever Touched A Game Before Sent Me This Out Of Nowhere
This is beautiful. I've tried asking my mum to play games with me so many times but she always refuses; I think she thinks that it was "Dad's domain". I can't convince her that no, we don't need to play the same games Dad and I did; I'd just like another way to spend time with her. 🥲
I Took My Dad To The Match Fulfilling A 20+ Year Promise
OP said that she's wanted to go to a Gold Cup soccer match with her dad since she was 7 or 8 years old, but her dad unfortunately passed away 4 years ago before they could fulfill their shared dream. She got the opportunity to go this year and brought her dad with her as best she could :) I'll be doing the same thing with some of my dad's ashes - gonna go on a road trip to Parker, Arizona, where we used to go on vacation every summer when I was a kid. We had to stop once my parents bought the family business, because my parents were too busy for vacations, and then his accident happened. I'll be taking some of his ashes with me to Parker soon :)

Our USPS Mail Man Cooks For Us At Work
Morale seems to be down at our local post office, where we were this morning. Signs up about "no free tape." Overheard comment to another customer about USPS not receiving federal funding. Clerk had a t-shirt with a picture of The Grinch with a caption reading "I don't smile" above the Grinch and "because I work for the United States Postal Service" below. 😪 Has always been a nice guy and I got a laugh out of him with the joke about a cat wanting to work for the U.S. pss pss pss.
There’s actually a science behind why we find ourselves on social media for hours on end, and a lot of it comes down to doomscrolling. Recognized as a compulsive habit, this behavior is often motivated by an intense urge to feel safer and more in control by constantly staying in the know. Over time, doomscrolling can cause more anxiety, stress, and even make us feel more depressed than usual.
My Birthday Gift From My Little Brother
Awww, they're cute! If I had a gamer friend, that's totally what I'd get them.
I've seen this post before and I think little brother made these because he couldn't afford to buy anything. Makes them even more special I think.

My Outdoor Cat Was Missing For 5 Years And He Came Back
One of so many reasons why you shouldn't let your cat roam outside (along with predators, getting hit by a car, the damage they do to local fauna, etc...).
So you should keep a cat, an animal, inside its entire life? Never having the sun on its back, not doing its normal catty things like hunting and pouncing? Cats in the Uk are generally outdoor cats, and that's how it should be.
Load More Replies...I could never let my baby outside, this is what I'm scared of (along with him getting hurt, or sick, or someone taking him...)
Yes!! Back in the 90s, my neighbors stole my childhood cat when they moved :( My mom never let my pets come in the house, and I used to be terrified that Kaz (my cat) would get eaten by a coyote (I live in SoCal.) He had a collar and ID tag, and everyone in the neighborhood knew him because he was super friendly and snuggly and would walk up to strangers for scritches XD Then my neighbors retired and moved to the east coast, and Kaz disappeared around the same time. I freaked out and cried for WEEKS, checking the streets and gutters for his body, etc. until a letter came addressed to me (no return address, of course): "We are very sorry, but we loved Kazzy SO MUCH that we couldn't imagine not having him around, so we took him with us! Sorry!" Two grown-áss adults knowingly stole an 11-year-old child's cat. I was devastated. Now, I just hope they loved him and gave him a good life :( ALL my cats are indoors cats now.
Load More Replies...Lovely story. And please remember folks: not all cats are alike, some love to go outside, and yes, that's dangerous for them, but so it is for you or your kids and I don't believe you lock either in your house. Fauna outside is a different question, and it depends on where you live. Yes, please be mindful if rare species are around, but if all you have in your neighbourhood are gulls and insects, it's fine.

OP said on Reddit: "Last night I had to leave my car at the park because my tire had a nail in it… and my spare did too (🙃). This morning I went back with a new tire, only to find that someone had plugged my spare, filled it with air, and even left me this note. My bumper sticker says 'Practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty,' so this felt extra full circle."

Load More Replies...I have a wholesome story….I listed some bustiers on EBAY (very nice, lots of trim, lace and clasps, both bought in Amsterdam at silly prices) as I hadn’t worn them in years and are a pain to put on. Well, my buyer was a young man from the other coast that I stupidly gave the wrong shipping cost to so since I was losing money anyway, I threw in a bunch of extra, very feminine and exciting pieces rather than sell them. This was a few years ago but his response was so touching that I really cried as he related how beautiful it made him feel and thanking me for disguising the shipment from his parents. I feel I touched a life, just through a few silly pieces of clothing.
That's a lovely story; thanks for sharing. It sounds you definitely made his day. ❤️
