Horses have an amazing awareness of hurting things. I had one who stood still in a field (I could see him from my kitchen window) for far too long, if you know what I mean. I went out to check on him, he wouldn't move. Pushed his shoulder, his hip, he swayed but would not move. He was usually very obliging. I happened to look down underneath his belly and there was a tiny kitten there in the long grass. He was that kind. I miss him.

Ok I totally get it and I agree with you but something we as equestrians forget is the vast majority of people just aren't around horses AT ALL. Never see them never stand next to them never touch them. My guy is a stocky quarter who JUST makes 16 hands and people always say how big he is and I'm like... Ummm no, not really, not to my mind anyway. But if it is bigger than a pony lots of people think they are huge it kind of scares them

All that may be true, but where exactly is "here?" Because, the wild horses around here in Washoe Valley, NV are NOT that big! Hell, 95% of the horses I've seen in person aren't that big! I've been next to Clydesdales before and they were huge, but not everyone is used to seeing something that big. To me (and I assume others here) that is quite the unit.
