In this sketch ,a girl holds a book a delicate barrier between the world and her thoughts. The book though seemingly an object of reading ,becomes a shield ,both protectives and intimate .Her face is partly obscured ,inviting curiosity yet leaving much to the imagination .Her fingers gently cradle the edges of the book ,as if it were a precious secret ,something she is both holding and hiding at the same time .
