Evan Stoler is an artist who enjoys featuring unique textures. When he was peeling off paper to dismantle old work, he noticed the beauty in the fluffy paper texture that remained. He developed the process to intentionally glue, layer, and tear colored paper with the intent to explore color theory and composition. The cathartic process of tearing paper also served as an outlet for his anger, frustration and anxiety in response to the pandemic devastation and racial injustice.
