Anya Taylor-Joy Shares Moments Devouring Vampiric Cakes From Her Secret Wedding With Husband
Actress Anya Taylor-Joy took to social media to celebrate two years of marital bliss with her musician husband, Malcolm McRae.
The ‘Dune: Part Two’ star shared intimate pictures and videos from their secret wedding ceremony, held in New Orleans back in 2022.
“Two years ago, on April Fools, I secretly married my best friend in New Orleans. The magic of that day is ingrained in every cell of my being, forever,” said The Queen’s Gambit star on Instagram. “Happy second ( first ) anniversary my love…you’re the coolest.”

“N.B yes, those are anatomically correct heart cakes. Yes, I am the vampire Lestat,” she added in jest, sharing a picture of two small heart-like cakes in the carousel of photographs.
Anya also shared an Instagram Story that featured a clip of herself and Malcolm devouring the vampiric heart-like wedding cakes.

Malcolm joined the celebration and posted an Instagram carousel of his own to mark the anniversary of their secret 2022 nuptials.
“I love you now and somehow I always have and somehow it will never end. Happy two year anniversary (yesterday), beautiful,” Malcolm wrote.
The secret wedding took place in New Orleans on April Fools, The Menu star said on Instagram

Anya also shared a heartwarming detail about the embroidered dress she wore during the 2022 wedding ceremony. One of the pictures captured the Peaky Blinders star gracefully walking down the aisle of what appeared to be an old cathedral. Adorned in an exquisite tan wedding dress, intricately embellished with flowers and birds, the actress had her long, floor-sweeping veil trailing behind.
The dress was “beautifully embroidered with our love story” by Dior, she said about the dress on Instagram.

The couple’s secret nuptials in 2022 were followed by another wedding that was bigger and grander in Venice in October 2023. Evan Ross, Miles Teller, Nicholas Hoult, and Julia Garner had reportedly attended the Venice wedding last year.
Anya and the More* band member first crossed paths in 2021 on the set of the lauded series The Queen’s Gambit. Malcolm was so enamored by the Golden Globe winner that he wrote a song for her and shared snippets of it on Instagram just days after their first meeting.

“I wrote this song for Anya two days after meeting her,” he wrote in the post’s caption at the time. “It’s called ‘Really Want to See You Again.'”
Anya called her now-husband her “hobby” in an interview with British Vogue in 2022.
“I said to my partner the other day that he was my hobby … I’ve finally found someone who will happily sit in silence with me reading,” she told the outlet. “We’re basically 80 years old and seven at the same time and it works really well.”
