Seattle Animal Shelter Offers Free Black Cat Adoption This Black Friday
Seattle Humane animal shelter is offering the best Black Friday deal ever – free adoption for all black cats. While everyone is crazy shopping, the rescue center staff encourages everyone to show some love and attention to those most in need, and in this case it’s black kittens. According to Huffington Post, in the States, 13% of people are still prejudiced against black cats, thinking they can bring bad luck. That’s why felines of that color usually wait longer at the shelters before they get adopted.
So, if you’re around Bellevue in Washington State this Friday, consider visiting Seattle Humane. We promise you that a cat will bring you more joy than a deal on a TV set or a discount on new sneakers and a pair of jeans. In the UK it's considered excellently good luck if a black cat crosses one's path - either on the pavement or the road - so if there's one ahead, it's worth making a detour! And, black cats are beautiful, mysterious and magical creatures, as much as any other cat and more. Home them! Stay lucky!!

Black cats are rare here. I've always wanted a black cat regardless of what breed. I just can't find one. They are also believed to bring bad luck in my country. Maybe that is why they're rare here. Sometimes they say that black cat's are "aswang" (our version of vampires) 😣

bringing bad luck?? o cmmon.. i even pity for my self, because everytime i have black cat.. they always died not more than 6 months old :( I still dunno why until now, i still cant have one of them.

I adore my two black cats. They bring me good luck. Also unlike lighter color cats, black cats do not get squamous cell cancer from sun exposure, which can be fatal.

The SPCA in Medicine Hat, AB does this too, once a month or so. Who wouldn't love an adorable, lucky black kitten

It's sad but most animals who are mainly black are adopted less and spend more time waiting. It's so sad to see discrimination on that level.

I have a gorgeous little black cat (she's 3 but she was ill as a baby and she stayed quite petite) who is blind and she's the funniest and cutest little thing.

This is a pretty good idea but the shelter needs to do a background check on these families. Having free adoptions means anyone can just come in and take a cat with the shelter having no idea what situation the cat is going to
