As a photographer, whose passion remains nature, i often wander to the woods to either relax, meditate, pick up mushrooms…etc. And once in a while i come accross something special.

This time something like little group of white mushrooms caught my eye. I payed attention and found out it’s a parasitic fungi, propably from the Cordyceps family. I guess it’s a pretty rare find, i have never seen nothing like it and have seen a lot of mushrooms, trust me.

So, this fungi attacks an alive wasp and kills it. Some Cordyceps species are also know to have impact on the host’s brain, so they kinda navigate the host to the habitat, where it reaches death location that is optimal for spore dispersal.

Yes, nature can be creepy and unforgiving at times. ;)
