Alfama is a wonderful district, situated, like the rest of the city Lisbon, on the slope of a hill. To get there, you can take the famous tram line 28. It’s a classic, yellow, usually crowded tram.
Even though Bairro Alto is the place to be at night, it has a lot to offer during the day time, such as beautiful views over the district. For the Fado lovers, Alfama has some nice Fado restaurants to go to. Also, there are beautiful views over the district.
Take the tram 28 to the stop Largo das Portas do Sol. From this little square, you have a great outlook over the district on the slope beneath you.
