I painted freehand this pair of shoes over the weekend and it took me 20 hours to finish them. They’re called PINK DRAGON.

The first day was spent painting the base colors with brushes.

And the second day was dedicated to add details with posca markers .

You can see the whole creative process in the photos and 1 video below.

Hope you like them! If you have any questions and comments I’m here to reply.

It all started with a cat (he’s called Tito) and a pair of white shoes…

The first step was to paint the tongue of the shoes. I decided to paint them with purple because my heart said so!

The second step was to paint the base colors of the design…

It was all done freehand without actually drawing any of the shapes…

The forms were created by the flow of the colors…

Finished the first day like this with the base colors done. Had to wait a couple of hours before the next step so the paint could dry…

On the second day I started adding details with posca markers. The first step of the details was to paint with white color…

And then I started adding details with black color to gain some contrast…

All the small details count (a lot) to the final design…

This is the second shoe. At this point I realized that it was easier to first add the black details, and the white afterwards…

All the details are painted. It starts looking like a reptile with all scales…

You’re not tripping and it’s not a special type of marker. This video is in reverse…

Time to take the shoes up to the terrace for a photoshoot…

Here you can see that I painted the same design in the two shoes but different…

Here you can compare the other 2 sides of the shoes…

I decided to ask for name suggestions in Instagram. A friend told me that her kids saw a dragon…

So with the dragon in mind and pink being one of the main colors, I decided to call them PINK DRAGON…
