I Found This Abandoned House In French Countryside And Was Surprised With What I Saw Inside

I wonder about the authenticity of this post lol. It looks awefully alive and NOT so dust for a real abandoned house.

All the furnishings inside, and the fact that the house is listed for sale, make me think that the real estate agent staged it. People wouldn't leave so many personal items behind, and they wouldn't be in such good shape if they had been abandoned. This is in no way a criticism, because the staging is beautiful, and makes it easier for potential buyers to look past the damage and visualize living there. Your photos are also beautiful. I'm glad you had the opportunity to see the house, and that you shared your images with us :)

I saw a purse on the bed, a hat and paintings on the wall, a couple of shoes on the floor.. they seem to have disappeared. I would love to hear the history of this house and the story of the family..

Looks like a good history gem to me.Who knows what family would have lived there or what was their story...Would be really cool to know about people who lived there why they abandoned etc... Interesting but it makes me think this story has a sad ending.

I think nobody lived there for a wile, but it s not abandond. Somebody has tried to maintain it. (Cloth under broken window, ceiling that came down was cleaned up)

So you found an empty house and just wandered in and started taking photos? Did you eat their porridge, break their chair and sleep in their bed too?

If this is staged, no modern pieces were used. Shoes, tv, furniture, nothing looks newer than 1960's.

How did you discover it ? It would be great if I can learn a thing or two of the story of it.

Maybe the prior owners were elderly with no one to leave this lovely home to. Seems a waste to not renovate it.

I don't think this is abandoned, people living here probably just don't have the money for the upkeep

It's not big enough to be a country estate yet it is remote in the countryside? I don't think it's a house I think it was built as weekend retreat or perhaps a hunting lodge for the aristocracy.

What's with the shoes in the bathroom? More staging?

When people leave their personal items behind, it usually means they left in a hurry. I'd bet that place is haunted and the occupants finally had enough and decided to flee.

You had no business just waltzing in there. Someone owns that house - even if it is up for sale - and you were trespassing. In any event, it was nothing more than ruin porn.

It looks a lot like my house does all the time.

I'd want to know what happened to the people that lived there? They obviously didn't just move & leave everything, even the Childrens pictures! Were they murdered or taken during the Holocaust? What happened?

How much does the photographer get from the real estate agent for pimping this?
