I decided to create this photo series after hearing the devastating news that quite a few of the dogs and cats I photographed were put to sleep. I guess I was being naive hoping all of them made it out, and it was so sad to learn otherwise.
I realized that many people make assumptions about what animals don’t make it out of the shelter – scared, dirty, aggressive. But they aren’t. They are happy, beautiful souls. I put together this list to show people otherwise.
