Grace Chon, an LA-based animal, lifestyle and celebrity photographer, had the brilliant idea of using her expertise to create an adorable series of images of her 10-month-old son Jasper and Zoey, their 7-tear-old rescue dog. Sometimes what you need to get creative is just a pile of cardboard boxes and a baby, who needs to be entertained. This is exactly what inspired Leon Mackie and Lilly Lang to recreate their favourite film scenes after moving into their new home. A young couple with a baby on their hands recently came up with an idea to bring most memorable moments from their favourite films back to life, except this time starring their 10-month-old son.
Have you ever had difficulties trying to get a baby to sit down and pose for a picture? It’s a huge headache now, but it was even harder for mothers in the Victorian era, when camera technology made posing for photographs difficult. These weird photos will show you how these mothers got their kids to calm down to get their pictures taken. The latest in a recent flurry of excellent baby and maternity photo shoots is Daddy’s Little Prop, in which Anthony Stuart and his lovely associate (and wife) create a baby out of thin air. The shoot is set up to look like a traditional magic show, with Stuart in a magician’s getup and his wife dressed in a racy assistant’s outfit. The couple’s sense of humor is what makes the series to fun – the wife looks surprised (or shocked) at the baby inside of her, while the dad looks proud of his work.
Photographer mommy Sophie Starzenski has created a series of beautiful self-portraits intimately documenting her pregnancy. Sophie took the same portrait in profile in front of a mirror once for every month of her pregnancy. The series is captivating for its simplicity, honesty, intimacy and vulnerability. It’s not every pregnant mommy-to-be that would be willing to bare all to the world as Starzenski has.
Adele Emersen used to present herself as a copywriter & concept designer in advertising, but now she’s probably more famous for her maternity leave hobby – photographing her children while they sleep and then adding some adorable details to the pictures. This summer she photographed her baby with an iPhone, and then sketched some activities on top of the pictures. Minimalistic and nicely child-like, they are exactly what you wanna see in your childhood album once you grow up. Some moms just don’t know what it means to get lazy or bored!
