Nobody is deniyng the artist right to do what he/she wants. But many seem to be deniyng the viewer his right to express an opinion. good or bad. Its ok, people have opinions, CHILL. Snowflake.

I think he forgot that humans have sebaceous glands that produce oil for a minute there. It’s to emphasize lighting and shading. It also occurs in photos of living humans depending on the lighting and how oily/sweaty their skin is.

It's a reinterpretation, chill out. Her lips look normal. It's not like the first version by Disney looked like a picture either.

Lmao, why are all of these top comments complaints? Why. This is an artist's interpretation, and face it, some people have big lips. Secondly, they are cartoons. If you don't like the art then leave it alone, or paint one that fits your standards.

Because the artist can do what she wants. I don't understand all these negative comments. The pictures are beautiful, and besides, show me one Disney princess who actually looks realistic.

It's not a nose job and inflated lips, the artist simply paints with shadows and highlights in order to create more 3D look, it gives depth. Sometthing that Disney totally lacks in their flat drawings.

She's black. Black lips tend to have volume.

Because the artist actually has a basic understanding of reasonable human proportions, shading, and lighting. Plus it’s the artists “own unique style” which the title says. If anyone would read it.

Can you do any better? If not then stfu. It’s the persons art style for one, hince the title “...in her own unique style”. Also the sheen on her helps distinguish where there light is being focused from, the artist is using shade and lighting to balance the painting. If you take a picture of an actual person at an angle like this in specific lighting there will be a slight bit of glistening off of certain areas of the body in which the natural oils in the skin are causing the light to reflect off of the skin. But obviously you wouldn’t know that or take the time to think and use the brain you were born with.
