20 Hilarious Pinterest Fails

Do you remember our super popular list of 20 creative DIY projects we’ve posted a couple of months ago? Judging by the enormous “like” count, it seems that many of you may have tried some of these DIY ideas yourself. However, often the results are so different from the photos that it’s hard not to laugh!

Sites like Craftfail.com, pintester.com and pinstrosity spotted this unlucky trend, and started sharing funny DIY fails from Pinterest and asking users to submit their own. From modern hair buns turned into a cleaning-day-at-home sort of hairdo, to decorative pom poms looking like floor rags, the results are usually pretty disastrous.

Luckily, the people are able to laugh at themselves, which gives us some hope they won’t be stopped from attempting another DIY project ever again. So, without further ado, here are 20 absolutely hilarious Pinterest fails.

    So many of these Pinterest fails have to do with using the wrong icing. In order to make the icing stay all thick and nice like that, it’s got to be stiffened with meringue. Otherwise it get’s too soft and won’t hold shape. Also, completely cooling the cake is super important too.

    I’ve certainly failed a lot with icing, too. It took me taking a cake decorating class to learn such things. And now I’m allergic to food coloring and can’t do any of the neat stuff I learned, unless I want to use just white icing, and chocolate.

    What a great way to end the day, laughed so hard! Had to go through the list twice it was that funny, I can totally relate though, that damn gluten free bread recipe I tried had too many eggs yuck!

    The sad part is if they would have really done them the way they were suppose to do them they might have came out. If you look at most of them they are not even remotely like they should look, I have done a few and they came out fine.. JMO

    Can’t speak for everyone else– but for the tree bottle one, I was trying to do a craft with my kids and so painted the trunk really fast so they would have an idea what to copy but then really was trying with the leaves– and yea.. big time fail. But hey it makes me laugh looking back on it now too.

    Have you tried using kool-aid? that will give your frosting the color, and as for the taste, it’s very slight. (at least when I have used it.) :)
