I still remember vivdly staring down the gorge from the bridge, and marvelling at the many houses perched right at the cliff-edge... Loved walking through it's beautiful, quaint streets. This historic town left deep impressions in me!

I wonder if there are any public spaces here that anyone can enjoy the view and splendor without owning a drone or staying in an expensive villa. Hmm

The two guys from Düsseldorf and Dresden tell the story behind World Walkerz in short on their website. They say they met in Miami, USA, in 2012, where they worked together as chefs: “From there on we became good friends and decided to see more from this awesome world.”

So their journey began in the USA, then continued in Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, and Hong Kong. Meanwhile, they have explored almost all of Asia, including North Korea. But the idea to create World Walkers was born during one of their earliest trips to Jakarta, Indonesia. We agree, it’s pretty selfish to enjoy all these beautiful and diverse places on their own, so sharing it with the online community that perhaps don’t even get a chance to travel is a fantastic idea.

If you find the time (and have the chance) you may give the "Miniatur Wunderland" in Hamburg (germany) a visit, they build the world's largest(?) model train and the Alpes they build are the size of 2 stories (~6 metres high). Very impressive.

    The bone of contention

The UN considers Gibraltar to be a Non-Self Governing Territory administered by the UK. The UK thinks its an independent Territory of the UK. Spain considers it a Colony of the UK. NONE of them actually consider it as physically part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. So actually, whichever way you look at it, the title is wrong. France is the only country in the world that considers all of its overseas possessions to actually be part of "France"- which is why you can fly 9000 miles from Paris to La Reunion and it's still considered to be an "internal flight"....

What's the best way to ruin a peaceful procession of columns in a tranquil mosque? Plop a baroque cathedral right in the middle. A jarring transition to say the least.

Well. First a Roman Temple, then a cathedral, then a mosque, then back to cathedral. A lot of plops. The Reconquista has not really diminished all moorish splendour. And it’s Renaissance. I think.

It is said when Carlos V, the King at the time, saw what had been done to the mosque said : "you have distroyed something that was unique and replaced with something you can see everywhere".

Although its name is "Pont Neuf" ("New Bridge"), it is actually the oldest standing bridge in Paris.

Yes, and it was called "new" because it was new to make sidewalks and a bridge with no houses on it.
