Jürgen Lingl-Rebetez is an award-winning German artist who specializes in wood carving. He began his artistic career as a painter in his early 20s, and not so long after Lingl-Rebetez discovered wood and all the beautiful things that he can create using it. After moving to Switzerland in 1996, this artist started using a chainsaw to create amazing sculptures.

Jürgen’s wood artworks create an impression of 3D paintings drawn with a chainsaw where the number of details gives an impression that his creations might come to life at any moment, and accurate strokes add strength and personalities to his subjects. Scroll down to see them for yourself.

The sculptures look great (especially how some are balanced) and I'm sure require hard work and great precision to make. But the animals somehow look tired and sad. Maybe because they look like they have a lot of scars and wrinkles so they look old and battered.
