Woman Who Donated Husband’s Body To Science Horrified To Learn The Military Used Him In Explosive Blast Tests
When Steve Hansen passed away in 2012, his wife Jill believed donating his body to science would give some meaning to an otherwise painful loss.
Steve had suffered from cirrhosis of the liver and had wanted to be an organ donor, but doctors determined that his organs were not healthy enough for transplantation. His body, however, could still help medicine through research.
Jill hoped her late husband could help doctors advance treatment for drinking dependence.
“What I envisioned was him being in some medical facility,” she later told local media.
