30 Times The Winter Olympic Games 2022 Was The Source Of The Funniest Memes And Reactions
The Winter Olympic Games Beijing 2022 has come to an end and some athletes came out victorious while others were happy to have such an opportunity to participate in one of the biggest sporting events in the world that invites only the best of the best.
Like any event as big as the Olympic Games, it is full of memeable moments and people on the internet didn’t miss the opportunity to create some content from what they observed for others to laugh at. They are also quite educational as not everyone had time to follow what was happening and these memes summarize the essence of what the sporting event is all about.

Don't foeget co-op sliding down a hill on a piece of wood or team sliding down hill in a piece of wood.
Don't forget sliding downhill AND uphill on 2 pieces of wood, and doing so carrying a rifle and taking a break for a bit of target shooting along the way.
And sliding *across* things on two pieces of plastic, metal, or wood!
Load More Replies...Honestly would rather watch people slide down a hill on a door than watch people run around a track in different lengths or teams. It's boring to watch people swim back and forth and back and forth.
In a half pipe with a long piece of wood. Dancing on ice with someone who doesn't have wood
The Winter Olympics in Beijing this year took place from February 4 to February 20. 91 nations with about 2,871 athletes participated in 109 medal events. The 2022 Winter Olympics featured 7 new events: Women’s Monobob, Men’s and Women’s Big Air (Freestyle Skiing), Mixed Team Snowboard Cross, Mixed Team Aerials, Mixed Team Short Track Relay, and Mixed Team Ski Jumping.
In the end, Norway triumphed and its athletes brought home 37 medals, 16 of which were gold and they actually set a new record for the most gold medals won at a single Winter Olympics. The host, China won 15 medals in total and 9 of them were gold. In total 29 countries of the 91 won at least one medal in this year's Olympic Games.
These Winter Olympics were special also because Haiti and Saudi Arabia made their debut. These countries delegated one male alpine skier each, Richardson Viano and Fayik Abdi respectively. They didn’t win any medals, but being qualified enough for the Olympic Games is an achievement in itself.
Just lay down right here, Bjorn. No, no, it's a sport....hey where are you going?
Ok, that had me laughing so hard, I almost wet myself. Good thing the bathroom is close by.

It's a gravity sport, so more weight= more speed. Brought to you by the people who took one look at regular skeleton and thought "h'mmm, that's OK, but how can we make it more dangerous?"
g, the acceleration due to gravity is constant and is independent from mass. If you drop a bowling ball and a feather (in a vacuum), they will fall at the same rate.

Tara and Johnny were the ones who spoke up first about the whole ROC debacle. They held nothing back. So I'm giving them a pass on this fashion choice.
Soon there will be more sports like biathlon. Swim a mile and punch a guy, throw a rock at a guy, run a 200 and stab a deer.
These two were the only reason I tuned into (USA)NBC’s feed of the 2022 winter games. For most of it I watched CBC’s feed
Even though the Olympics is a sporting event and the athletes just want to show their best, politics always has its own role. China is known for their human rights issues and cruelness against the Uyghur Muslim population in the northwest province of Xinjiang, which is why some countries boycotted the Beijing Olympic Games.
That doesn’t mean that the countries didn’t participate in the Olympic Games at all. Athletes are still able to take part in the event because a diplomatic boycott is only applied to government officials. Usually high-ranking officials attend the events but sometimes they choose to not show support to certain countries.
This is not the first time countries have boycotted the Olympic Games due to their moral stance, but this year countries that announced it were the United States, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Lithuania, Denmark and Estonia.
The curling club in Seattle is basically a bar. Maybe they all are like that.

Brad Gushue and his Canadian rink defeated the U.S. rink in the bronze medal round.

Uhm, I’d bet that they did exactly that somewhere near Rochester NY. You might have to convince me that that’s not what happened.
That's how all curling teams start. I'm Canadian and thus an expert on curling. lol

I was rooting for Yuzuru Hanyu, but Chen was brilliant! I don't care much about the Summer Olympics, but I a d o r e the Winter Olympics, especially all the competitions involving figure skating. Now it's another 4 years until I can truly enjoy it again. *sighs*
he went to my school!!!!! my teachers taught him, its really fun- he's kinda popular in our school lol
That Rocket Man performance was something else. I'm not usually that into figure skating but I watched that over and over. Just incredible. Seems like a really good person too.

Load More Replies...The Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo were just about a half a year ago and they took place a year later than they were supposed to due to Covid. The pandemic hasn’t ended since and the Omicron variant reached its peak in February, so it was still a challenge to keep everyone safe.
The organizers reported that among athletes, other team members and staff, only 437 infections were recorded, but there weren’t major disruptions or outbreaks.
ehhhhhhhh i swear i've heard billy elish in a figure skating routine before
I actually went and downloaded a Sam Smith song after watching a figure skating routine that used it. Ah, the drama of the performance.
Because we need more Alpine assassins!
Load More Replies...Kate, that's called a triathlon. Where they swim, bike and run. It's not just the "Summer Olympics"
I love biathlon. So winderfully arcane. I just wish, they would strap a big rubber deer to the back od the people to make it even more realistic,
Gold = corn Silver = sauerkraut Bronze = pinto beans. Attention shoppers you can find all your Olympic metals on grocery aisle four. An shoppers; don't forget to use your gas points before they expire at the end of the month. 😏👍
The main measure the organizers took to prevent any outbreaks was to confine venues to epidemiological bubbles, meaning that athletes had their contacts limited to only the most necessary. They were only allowed to be in the Olympic Villages, go to training venues, competition venues, Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Victory Ceremonies as well as other venues or destinations that the organizers felt were inevitable. The athletes could move between those venues only with the dedicated transport.
Of course, masks and contact-tracking apps were mandatory and the number of spectators at venues was limited. The official Olympics playbook said, “It will be mandatory to be fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to departure for China, in order to be allowed in the closed loop system without quarantine.” If an athlete wasn’t fully vaccinated, they would have to self-isolate for 21 days upon arriving in China.
But, of course! Clearly, she could do whatever she put her mind to…

Load More Replies......and who didn't think having the Winter Olympics in a country with no natural snow made any sense?
Even though there were no major issues related to Covid, there were some controversies, like Russian biathlete Valeria Vasnetsova complaining about poor-quality food, and Japanese snowboarder Ayumu Hirano, who won the gold medal, finding out there were some discrepancies in the scoring process.
Probably the most talked about controversy was the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) allowing the Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva to compete after her doping test results from December 25 came positive. However, CAS claimed that Kamila did not test positive during the Games, so preventing her from going on the ice "would cause her irreparable harm in these circumstances" because if the investigation shows she is innocent, it would have been unfair.
They had to shorten the 50 km cross country because it was too damn cold. The problem wasn't the temperature.
...is anyone else concerned about the placement of that ski slope?
Yes, but it did snow sometime after this picture was taken. If that snowfall was all natural or manipulated to happen (yes, weather can be manipulated) no one can know for sure
Load More Replies...Lovely venue! So much better than the usual natural landscape we see with this🥴.
Guys he doesn't like being compared to anime characters BTW(especially yuri)
I have a theory that the Simpsons are from the future, and have a goal to predict everything that will ever happen
Load More Replies...Despite the controversies, there were moments to be happy about as every medal was the highest point of every athlete’s career. Some athletes set new world records, women skaters started a new era of quadruple jumps, which was never done before in the Olympics, and everyone loved the cute rainbow panda mascot named Bing Dwen Dwen.

You know, they call it Skeleton because that's what shatters if you crash.
I'm thinking that after the first couple of crashes, it wouldn't matter any more...
Yep that's my favorite sport. Can't think of anything more extreme.
There is a study saying this sport can lead to severe brain damage, depression and suicidal behaviour..
Me too! Till the day we got stupid and decided we needed a ramp...

The problem is not so much the lack of cold/snow but the winter sports and the facilities are ludicrously expensive. It’s easy to scout talented runners, swimmers, throwers, etc just about anywhere but for ice skating or skiing you need equipment and barely anyone outside of the wealthy countries has that.
Ah, Blades of Glory. One of the best movies starring Will Ferrell that I've ever seen.
They are making a sequel!! Looking so much forward to that

The last one could have been a ski jumper from the nuclear power plant jump.

I kinda feel like this too. We normally all watch it every night, judge the opening ceremony, know what events are upcoming, and this year... no one in my family has any interest. Not sure if its the boycott, we're all just too busy... but nothing. Not even the ice skating.(sniff.sniff.)
why were all the countries that boycotted the winter olympics still in the winter olympics
I'm glad I zoomed in on his flag, because it looked like someone had wiped their bum on it from a distance
Dude!!! Is this the dude that got frostbite on his junk?!?!?! Disclaimer...I know this is NOT the guy in question. Just thought it funny cause the guy is wearing a grass skirt.
I hope he’s not skiing in that outfit. He’ll have some serious wind burn.

Cause you know, he's just a bit annoyed that everyone thinks he likes wearing fem shirts. I mean seriously, why can't shirts just be less fem??...

The nuclear plant on the ski jump is pretty terrifying to some. What if that thing was on secretly?
