Woman Tells Husband He’s Not Their Daughter’s Father, Then Claims She Was ‘Just Joking’
Imagine raising a child for six years only to be told that you’re not the father… That’s exactly what happened to one man, who says his wife ‘admitted’ this during a heated argument. When he threatened to do a paternity test, she back-pedaled and claimed she was ‘just joking.’ And he sort of believed her…
In a wild twist, the man later decided to call his wife’s bluff. He cooked up an elaborate plan that would see the truth revealed once-and-for-all, and it had her begging for an ‘amicable divorce’ in exchange for just one thing.

Here’s why paternity issues are no laughing matter
The man’s wife may have brushed it off as ‘just a joke’ but paternity fraud is no laughing matter. If that test had shown that he wasn’t the dad, the mother could have found herself in some seriously troubled, deep, hot water.
According to Kollias and Konner Attorneys at Law, paternity fraud occurs when a mother names a man as the father on a child’s birth certificate when she is unsure who the father of her child is, or when she is well-aware that the man is not the father of her child.
“Sometimes the reason for the false allegation is that the mother does not want the alleged father to know about another man,” say the legal experts. “On other occasions, the mother is seeking financial support from a man with more money than the biological father.”
Whatever the reason, paternity fraud carries dire consequences and some states have even enacted criminal statutes to deal with the widespread problem. For example, in Illinois, civil law requires a court to vacate a child support order if the court finds that the man is not the biological father of the child for whom he is paying support; and that the mother maliciously represented the paternity of the child to the father.
“If an order is vacated due to paternity fraud, the victim may also seek restitution against the mother for support that was paid,” adds the law firm’s site. “However, the law limits collection efforts in order to protect the child.”
A 2022 study published in “Human Reproduction” found that of 1,211 men who had sought paternity testing services in the United States, 11% were not the biological fathers of the children they were raising. Another study, published a year later, focused on men mandated by courts to undergo paternity testing. It found that 12% were not biological fathers.
Meanwhile, when British-based DNA Clinics analyzed 5,000 results randomly selected from January 2014 to June 2016, results showed that a whopping 48% of UK men tested were not the biological father.
Fathers who were duped aren’t the only ones who suffer. Paternity fraud can also have a long-lasting impact on the child in question.
“Consequences for children can include loss of identity, confusion and disruption to relationships,” note the experts from U.K.-based McAlister Law. They add that in the long run, it is best to be honest with children about their paternity. But this must be done with a child-focused and sensible approach.

I hate cheats as much as anyone, but in this case, I don't think the wife cheated. He had told his wife it was over. At that point she was free to meet and sleep with whoever she wanted. He has no right to expect her to wait for him to change his mind. If he was interested in what she did whilst they were separated, he should have asked before getting back together. I would definitely have divorced her though, as the comment about his daughter not being his would be the end for me whether true or not, as that is an evil thing to say to a husband and purely designed to hurt him, so she must have hated him then. How can you forgive someone who hates you so much they would say that?
