A vain hope, I'm afraid. The man has lost his mind. Putin used to be KGB, and then after the 1991 coup FSB. So he's not a dummy like some (former) world leaders. It could be the cancer treatment. It could be he's going senile. It doesn't matter. The man has committed the most massive war crime in my life time. Sadly, Russia has no mechanism in place to remove him from power. I feel for the Ukrainian AND the Russian people. They are both losing so many sons and daughters right now. But I have no sympathy for the man behind the war. Sorry for the long post.

Maybe he'll have an aneurism and clonk down dead...maybe a Russian or Ukrainian citizen will be able to get to him and end him. I'm not proud of myself for wanting something like this to happen, but in this case I think that's what needs to happen.

I live in Finland, and my countrys media has been monitoring the political field in Russia very closely for a long time, basically since we gained indepence from it over 100 years ago. One of the more terrifying things that Russia has in store is that most of the people that could be the president after Putin are worse than him.

I honestly wouldn't know what to do without pets in my life. The welcome feeling when you come home. The cuddles when you are happy but they cuddle extra when you are sad. The happy sounds they make. The cats i can cuddle when i feel down or had a rough day. I also have a form of autism and cats really helped me in my life. Mine come from a shelter. I remember trying to find the right one for me. There were 2 who just instantly connected with me. I love them so much. They helped me and i helped them.

As a child, I always got along better with animals than with people. I had few-to-no friends in school and preferred to play with the family dogs. I simply could not seem to connect with/relate to the other kids my age. I was born in the 80s and autism/Asperger's was virtually unheard of, let alone diagnosed. Same for ADHD. I hate to internet-diagnose myself, but I'm positive that I'm autistic (to some degree) and that I have ADHD (to some degree). XD Besides the animals thing, all my other issues/problems throughout childhood and adulthood point right to it (I'd just get smacked/beaten as a kid for "not paying attention/not listening/disobeying"). But - tl;dr - animals/my pets are the only reasons I've survived to adulthood. I'm dealing with a sick kitten and a sick puppy rn but as soon as they are well, I plan on either fostering/socializing kittens like this kiddo does, or adopting senior kitties!

Congratulations on 3 years! I'm on this same journey myself (only about 10mos clean/since my last near-OD) and it's been a struggle. (Family does not understand why I couldn't "just stop", I obviously just "didn't want to") It really helps me and inspires me to hear from others who understand the struggle.
