When You Are Painting By Novik

For the last 27 years, Novik has been living in Southern California and painting primarily with acrylic on canvas in his signature Expressionist and Abstract Expressionist styles. For many years, Novik was a fixture on famous Venice Beach. Novik recently joined Instagram (@art_by_Novik) and Twitter (@art_by_Novik) where he has attracted a fast-growing audience that appreciates the daily post of one of Novik's works from the last three decades. Fans and other artists on social media consistently recognize Novik's mastery. Novik attended art school in Tbilisi, Georgia from 1960-1965 and attended the Institute of Fine Arts in Yerevan, Armenia from 1970-1975. After graduating from The Institute of Fine Arts, Novik worked on the restoration of the artwork and the interior spaces of the churches and cathedrals in St. Petersburg, Russia. For a decade starting in 1980, Novik worked as an interior designer and created original artwork for bars, restaurants, clubs and halls across St. Petersburg. In 1991, Novik immigrated to the US from Tbilisi, Georgia.
