I have two Boston terriers who always sleep entwined in their puppy-hood bed in my office. They have tripled in size since then, but still prefer to sleep crammed together in the same bed. I brought in a larger bed, but they both left it to shoehorn themselves into the old familiar bed. Dogs likes what they likes!
“Laughter is the best medicine and when it comes to pets you can count on daily smiles,” Shannon Gervais, Registered Veterinary Technician, Director of Hospital Integrations at Galaxy Vets told Bored Panda. She was happy to share some insights into goofy dog behavior so pull your seat closer!
“Thinking of dog breeds that are particularly entertaining, the first that comes to mind is my favorite breed of all time — the Labrador retriever! My black lab kept me smiling for over 12 years,” Gervais recounted and added that “Every year for Christmas and his birthday, I would wrap up some kind of toy that squeaked for him, and without fail, he would squeak the toy through the wrapping paper and then continue to unwrap it!” As he aged, this enjoyment for both of them never got old.

This picture made me cry. The dog on the left looks just like a dog I rescued when she was tiny. She and her littermates had been put in a cardboard box and put in a dumpster. Fortunately, they were found and taken to the only vet in town. I went in to pay my mother's bill, and came out with a puppy so covered in fleas her skin crawled. The vet gave her shots and gave me a couple of bottles of flea shampoo. My mother named her Fancy. Best and smartest dog in the world. I miss her, and am glad these pictures are here. So cute!

They are notorious for their crazy antics. Throwing their toy up into the air and playing catch with it when their owners are 'not watching' brings on one huge smile when you see them doing it.”
According to Gervais, some of the most common goofy behaviors of dogs involve the typical “‘chasing their tail’, ‘rolling around on the ground’, and ‘kicking when they are scratched’.” Moreover, chasing their tail is by far the most popular with the kids, and you can see more children entertained with this one than any other goofy antics that dogs do, she added.

I'm sorry but that is wrong. It's a comfort thing. Dogs do not try to dominate their family members. Dogs do not have that kind of social structure. The guy who came up with that alpha male and dominating nonsense came out and denounced his own theory. He admitted it was completely wrong and based on very short observations of wolves. Domesticated dogs are not wolves and it turns out that neither of them have a hierarchal social structure. ALL canids in nature are monogamous, all of them, which includes coyotes, foxes, wolves, wild dogs, etc. They do not arrange themselves into dominating and submissive hierarchies. Any dog trainer who tells you that your dog is trying to dominate you is using an outdated and debunked philosophy on dogs and their social structure. If any "expert" dog trainer tells you that your dog is dominating you by leaning against you, ignore them and go elsewhere.

It has caused dogs to be abused when stupid humans try to aggressively show a poor dog that the human is the "alpha." The man who put forth the alpha dog theory denounced his own work and apologized for his bad science. This philosophy of dominance and alpha dogs has resulted in misery for countless dogs. Please do not spread these outdated notions. It is very dangerous for dogs and has resulted in abuse and death for many dogs when stupid people who thought their loving dog was trying to "dominate" them by resting up against them. Please stop.

Years ago I had an American Bulldog rescue. Barely a year old (PUPPY MODE!!!!). I would sit in a chair on one side, he would be on the other side of the house. Then he would run, like really RUN, take a leap and jump up on my lap like he was a tiny palm-sized kitten or something. Acting like that was normal. Snuggling his head into my stomach and arm. Seriously, big dogs have no clue about sizes. They really don't know they are big. The bigger they are, the more they think they're tiny lil lap dogs

Details: This is Drifter; he turns 6 in a few days. Ever since he was 1, he has demanded his own apple slices. But not just to eat. He "dragon hoards" his slice for hours before he eats it, often using it as a pillow, or sitting on it like he wants to hatch it like an egg. He cries at me with little boofs until I give him an apple slice, even if I don't have any myself. No idea why. Edit: here's a mini dump of photos I could find for y'all! this gave me shivers. my late doberman, helda, noticed a prowler outside. did her duty by barking but also went through the plate glass window, slicing herself up. off to emergency surgery. thought she learned her lesson but nope! came home from work to find replaced window broken out but her unharmed. ended up with shatterproof glass [think plexiglass] in the end. loved that she did her job but was way too dedicated.

Reminds me of my dog growing up, the "runt" of the litter, a Shitzu that was much larger than most, tongue was too big for his mouth, jaw crooked, so was his nose. But his personality was pure love, so much fun growing up with him

This little guy is most likely a puppy mill rescue. The obvious glaucoma, and the inability to keep its tongue in his mouth (probably due to not having any teeth) are classic signs... If I was to say what I would love to do to puppy mill operators I'd get banned from BP for life!

My husband and I take in seniors and special needs dogs. They can have quite a fulfilling and satisfying quality of life in spite of their issues. The right meds, food and an abundance of love and it doesn’t get any better than that.

Some dogs don't stop after being neutered. My sister's dog is a Lancashire Heeler and has been neutered for 3 years and he still humps things especially other dogs. It's a dominance thing.

Ha ha! My dog has had the same humping buddy for about 8 years now! Its name is officially " Humpy". Our dog will also hump humpy while staring at my husband in defiance because my husband tried to keep him from doing this in front of people!! I have never laughed do hard in my life! Hubs moved humpy to under the rest of the toys, and the dog will dig him out, position him to see the husband and have at it!! I call it revenge or in your face humping!!

It looks like someone is antagonizing a poor little weenie dog, while they have it flipped onto its back. It's always upsetting to me when people get their pets this upset or worse, by doing things like this. Owners of dogs like Scottish Terriers are told to never do that because of their nature, and that type of aggressive behavior is too harmful to that breed of dog. Novices won't be able to control their dogs if they encourage aggressive behaviors in that breed. I'm sure there are many more with the same problem. I got my pets to love them, not terrorize them. It's so sad.
