A while ago I posed the question, "What Makes You Really Angry?" here on Bored Panda. To be honest, I braced myself for a deluge of personal grievances... What I received, however, was a rather good outlook on our modern society. To me, it became clear that our anger, varied as it is, intertwines to form a map of societal concerns that are often topics of great importance.

As I said before, I wasn't quite prepared for the overwhelming surge of responses that poured into the thread. I would love to thank everyone for their answers and opinions!

It's depressing, but not really shocking. I was born, and spent the first 27 years of my life living all across the US. The quality and intelligence of the average american has decreased sharply in the 38 years i've been alive, while entitlement, willful ignorance and aggression have been steadily rising. Americans are brought up to believe that america is the greatest, bestest most number one-ingest country in the world despite so much evidence to the contrary. It's a $hit show, and the worse everything gets, the more people allow themselves to be distracted by unimportant bull$hit that plays on peoples outrage, so nefarious, damaging stuff like this can be maneuvered into place. It's embarrassing, it's shameful, but for anyone that's been paying attention it's also expected.

Let's cut the BS here 40% of women who voted in the last two elections feel the same way. I hate to say this but looks it's going to happen again in 2024. You can't complain about the democracy you refuse to participate in.

Hey “pro-lifers”, isn’t it funny how a child’s safety only matters to you when it wouldn’t interfere with any of your other desires? You’d want to save children from school shootings, but oh! Having your guns is more important than that.

They are anything but pro-life; they are anti-choice, pro-forced birth, and pro-control but they are never pro-life. If they were pro-life they would care about homeless, sick, and hungry with same vigor they care about a blood clot. Sooner we start calling them with their true self the better.

Agreed that men contribute to the problem, but let's not blame men for everything. Women are part of the anti-abortion movement too.

And this is why I'm THRILLED Issue 1 failed in Ohio yesterday. This November there is a vote to add reproductive rights to our ballot. The pro-lifers tried to circumvent Ohioans voting for it by raising the bar to passage. It is my hope Ohio will once again have safe, legal abortion again. No woman should be forced to bear a child that either threatens their health or is unable to provide for due to circumstances beyond their control.

Kind of agree with this. Although I have my own views on abortion, as a man I don't really feel it's within my purview to have an opinion about it. And it seems strange that this decision was made mostly by old white men

This issue is to detract from real issues, like housing, wages and mass shootings. Get people riled up about a pea sized fetus and they lose their minds. On the other side, it has caused more women to stand up and be heard. They're trying to push us back in the kitchen but they're gonna get burned.

Bored Panda reached out to Leonardo M. Jones, an expert on emotional intelligence and the psychology of emotions, for insights on the misunderstood emotion of anger. Here's what he shared:

"Society often labels anger as a destructive emotion due to its potential outcomes—things like hostility, violence, and aggression. This perspective might come from various sources, such as cultural, religious, or societal norms. Yet, several researchers and psychologists argue that anger can be quite constructive."

I had a slightly similar talk with my 19yo nephew a few months ago about spanking children; I am completely against spanking and he's rationale was, "as long as you have a good reason, like a really important lesson." To which I responded, "Spanking doesn't teach a kid to learn your lesson, it teaches them to be more sneaky. And if we humans are so much smarter than cavemen, why resort to caveman behavior with a kid, "You bad, me angry, me hit you!". And lastly, you would never teach an adult a worthwhile lesson with violence, why not? Why won't you hit another grownup when they do something wrong? But you'll hit a kids because...?". And that's how my nephew was converted into non-violence against children. 😁

Yes!!! People need to stop hurting animals! If someone murders a person? They go to jail. Someone euthanizes an innocent animal because it wasn't adopted in time? They don't go to jail and get to keep doing there sickly actions. Someone abuses a person? They go to jail. Someone abuses an animal? Sometimes they go to jail, a lot of times they don't, and sometimes when they do its not as long as you would be in jail for abusing a person. IF PEOPLE GO TO JAIL FOR HURTING OR KILLING OTHER PEOPLE, PEOPLE SHOULD GO TO JAIL FOR THE EXACT AMOUNT OF TIME FOR HURTING OR KILLING AN ANIMAL!!!!!!!

I am probably going to get attacked for this but this isn’t abuse. They painted the number on them to identify them after birth so they know what mother they go to. They won’t be wearing that forever. I follow a sheep rancher on YouTube. They do this for records so they can record vaccinations, make sure they are gaining weight, etc. This is actually a good thing. I am an animal lover and would be the first one to step in for animal abuse.

I'm sorry your peoples are so close minded. My hometown was the same, nobody was safe to come out until they were grown and left town. I remember one particular moment in the "christian" church I was forced to attend where the pastor made an announcement to the entire congregation about a former member who had just graduated highschool and moved away for college and the "sin" he is living in my having relations with other men. That solidified in my mind, "Nope! Definitely can say shít about my sexuality!". If you're in the US, come to the west coast and the average human will accept your beautiful self as you are.

I feel like there's a distinction to be made between rioting over something you don't like, and rioting to finally get attention on a serious issue that is being ignored. I'm not saying I always agree with the tactic, but historically, some major American growth has occurred due to rioting

Nope, I 1000 times disagree with "don't riot". Rioting over your favorite sports team l losing or winning (looking at you, Philadelphia) is stupid. But a good riot against not liking social injustice so absolutely called for. Portland, OR is REALLY good at rioting against social injustice (and then the police literally started kidnapping people. True story, I saw it with my own eyes.).

There’s a difference between peaceful protests and rioting. Destruction and violence over things is rioting. Holding up signs and marching for protests is not rioting, but peaceful protesting. Grand Rapids had to deal with a lot of damage due to some riots and heavy looting, I forget why, but it was a demonstration of sorts, idk.

I was constantly bullied from first grade all the way through high school. The worst part is, when the bullying first started, the teachers witnessed it and did nothing. When I went home and told my dad, all I ever got from him was, "Why don't you quit being such a baby? Why don't you grow up and be a man? Fight your own battles." I was a kid and my dad already expected me to be an adult. By the time I was in third grade, I stopped telling my dad anything because it was obvious he was never going to help me.

I am small person 5' 8 " and asked what is the problem ? " She's a Jew and does not belong here ". Adrenaline kicked in and so did the other 6 bullies. Got my licks in but they kicked my butt. I am Catholic and attend any church you will invite me to. She and I were good friends until we graduated from high school. When we parted ways, her to U of Nebraska and me to the USN 1959. One tiny little bitty kiss was our farewell. She became a doctor and I retired as a Naval Officer ( submarines, demolition diver, deep sea diving officer . Be yourself because you are one of a kind and that is God's intent for all of us. Peace be with you always. mr h

Went to about 8 schools. Each school, except in Pre-K, had groups of kids ganging up on me, trying to find my vulnerable aspects and just targeting because... I dunno. My appearance, my hair, my voice, my clothes, my name (which is a VERY common name), my interests, the way I drew, the gap in my teeth, my skin disorder, the bike I rode, and have few friends. Every good friend I happen to meet lived across the street but would go to a different school, or ended up moving a year later. I spent a lot of time on my own among kids, just listening, observing. Became a really good listener and vigilant. To this day, as I'm nearing 40, I'm wary of anyone's attention and hyper fixate on subtleties and micro-expressions, always second guessing intentions and I don't believe anyone at work is capable of being a friend.

I was bullied when I was at school student. bullied for 12 years. My parents refused to make a transfer, given the good reputation & status of the school. I graduated almost 20 years ago. certain things still trigger me, statement is 100% true.

I know someone, a little too close to me, who once said my cousin "ruined her career prospects by choosing to be diagnosed with PTSD" after she got robbed and beaten while out running errands. She wanted to be a cop. She's now a car photographer, which I'm guessing she has more passion for. But when I heard her say that my cousin "CHOSE" this diagnosis, I was appalled and nearly leapt out of the car we were in just to get away from her disgusting drivel.

Was just thinking about this last night. You know that 15 year old that was invited on a podcast, and he was making assumptions these OF girls are illiterate. Most people in the comments were applauding the kid. Many were recognizing he was trolling the whole podcasting with a fake accent and coming off pompous on purpose. I listened to most of it, taking in what everyone at the party was saying. There was nothing interesting being talked about. If anything, the kid made it watchable. But, despite how people raved about the boy, I thought both sides in the podcast were just people who are full of themselves and playing a character. Everyone likes to have their heroes and villains. Society tends to collectively agree on one and pick a side, without each person taking the time to think about what they really want to think.

That's the thing with vegans/vegetarians, LGBTQ+ community, etc. I am delighted to see that you are happy, healthy, and leading a life that you think is good. I have no problem with any of them. But, if you are getting in my face, starting arguments, ruining my fun time, etc, that's when it gets exhausting. And then, especially LGBTQ+ people, you proceed to hide behind your whole non vegan/LGBTQ+ people being "mean" "selfish" "sexist/racist" "animal abusers" and etc, then you are the problem. I know a lot of women hate their periods. I hated mine when I got them. But it's a sign you're a healthy woman. If you're like me, who doesn't get periods due to a hormone disrupting condition, like prolactinoma, I wish you the best and hope you have the courage to go through treatments. Since I have high levels of prolactin, it's causing deficiencies in vitamins, and joint and bone health, and had made it a b***h to lose weight and get the body I once had. It may affect my eyesight, my dental health and emotional and mental stability, and majorly affecting my sex life in a negative way. The sex hurts a lot and it's hard for me to be mentally into it for long. In order to get my prolactin levels under control I either need to take expensive medication or get surgery to remove the tumor in my pituitary gland. I have CT scans every 2 years and a yearly eye exam. Plus monthly blood tests early in the morning. I HATE blood tests. I hate needles. The more I think about it, it really wasn't so bad getting a period. I was healthy back then.

"What Really Gets Under Your Skin?": 30 Responses From Our Community People who are inconsiderate, offensive, or intolerant.   They are EVERYWHERE!   Racists, bigots, and misogynists are three good examples to get the ball rolling. People who let their feral offspring run riot through restaurants, cafes, pubs, and supermarkets, whose only parenting 'skill' is to shout 'stop it!' at the top of their voices. People who think that their religion gives them the right to look down on others, zealots who shout at you or blow you up, churches and preachers that hoard money as if it's going out of fashion. People who demonize or criticize others because of their race, gender, or lifestyle choices.   In a nutshell, anyone who intentionally says or does something that hurts another person, whether physically, emotionally, or otherwise.   Tim says, 'Always consider how your actions or words will affect someone before you say, write, or do them.' Unfortunately internet has its part of blame. Before it was widely spread, if a person was inconsiderate, intolerant or offensive, they were easily shut by more sensible people around them, and they had less occasions to find a group of similar people that supported them. Now, if you are a stupid prick, surely you will find your community at least online if not in the real world, a community that fuel your insensate hatred and intolerance. Of course, unfortunately, this kind of people always existed, but nowadays it's easier for them to communicate one with another and with all the world

The economic model changed many years ago to reward the worst excesses of coporate greed, it had been coming for a long time. What has changed now is that people have more information available to them and are more likely to question 'accepted wisdom' The 'accepted wisdom' in dealing with inflation is to raise interest rates. The thought being that this reduces spending power and prevents prices further spiralling. Of course this does not address the drivers of inflation which, in this case, is the war in Ukraine pushing food prices and refusing to buy oil/gas from Russia driving oil/gas prices. While the govt capped suppliers prices to an extent (causing many to go bust) they didn't cap producers prices who had no extra costs and were merely profiteering. THIS is what people are talking about. The other problem is that whilst many other food/retail prices went up due to excessive costs added to transport (due to fuel) they have not come down again as fuel came down..

I would genuinely love to be educated. From a naïve perspective charging less and taking less profit so others can have more seems like the best way to protect the market rather than lead to it's collapse. Or do people become multi billionaires by actually paying their staff properly? No aggression in the questions would very much welcome your thoughts to improve my understanding.

Gaslighting is the worst. It can be done in such a way that gets others to be on the gaslighter's side, because they're "trying to be a good, caring person". There's a good chance everyone has worked with one. They'll be the ones being super chill with you to your face, then backstabbing you and gossiping behind your back to other coworkers. They'll also be the ones making a big stink out of the most minor mistakes you make, and perhaps go talk to your supervisor about how you messed up, as if it were the worst thing ever. Best thing to do is pay them no mind and don't speak to them unless it's necessary.

This is up in the North near the arctic circle, and not something most Canadians partake in. We don't like it. It is complicated, as the Inuit do have rights to maintain their cultural lifestyle that is necessary for survival in a land that is difficult to import affordable food. BUT, the Humane Society International even says clubbing and shooting baby seals is inhumane and unnecessary, even for Inuit culture, and I have to agree, full heartedly. The Canadian government is always at crosshairs with Indigenous people and their demands of preserving their cultural way of life, and progressing Canada forward to protect everyone's rights and the wildlife.

Full use of the animal is encouraged for pelt, meat and oil. The harvesting of harp seal pups, known as whitecoats, and hooded seal pups, known as bluebacks, is illegal in Canada and has been since 1987. The seals that are harvested are self-reliant, independent animals.

I don't agree with the practice, but it's complicated. The pups are killed, because the mother is dead. Would you let a cat or dog starve and freeze? Animals are put down to prevent suffering when they are pets. The practice is wrong, but letting the pup starve is even more cruel. It's not just Canada, most Nordic countries and Japan do it. Why do they get a pass? Answer:Marketing. Japan, Norway and Iceland hunt seals AND whales, but there is no videos so they are okay?

Well, I think that you should take a baby animal to a wildlife center if their mother is dead, not kill it, but you definitely shouldn't let it just freeze and starve either. I mean, if you found a child whose parents were dead, would you kill it, or would you bring it to an orphanage or something like that? If we take care of parentless children instead of killing them, we shouldn't be killing baby animals when we can take them to wildlife centers and things like that instead

I'd love to complain about things but honestly, I'm not 100% educated in some of the things I want to vent about, and there's already so many depressing things pointed out in here. So instead, I'm just going to remind everyone to stop scrolling for a few minutes, get a glass of water, and don't dwell too much on these things. The world is an awful place, but one person isn't going to be able to fix it all overnight! Just remember to do your part, and try your best to (kindly) educate others; even though everyone here wants to change the world, and work together, we need to keep in mind that sometimes we need to focus on our mental health, too. You're important, and amazing, and even if you don't have the time, resources, or energy to lead a protest or fight back every single moment, even the little things like picking up trash and being kind to strangers can stack up and make a huge difference!

Especially, like has happened in the USA recently, when the inflation is driven in very large part, by GREED. Pil companies posting record earnings. Banks posting record earnings, etc. Amazon posting record earnings. Inflation is being pushed by companies for whom it is not enough to post good profits enough to keep your investors happy, but instead keep raising prices (and thus inflation) that results in record earnings. Because the type of unfettered capitalism practice in the US is based ENTIRELY on greed with no consideration for anyone else who lives on the earth. Because GREED.

The egg producing industry in the United States, saw egg prices, double and triple last year. They blamed it on avian flu. Somehow the egg industry production made record profits to me that sounds more like price gouging

A little bit of inflation is good. Without it, everything would be worth barely anything. As time goes on, consumers become willing to pay more for products, causing inflation.

unsurprising. If you ask for pay increases, or if capitalists want to make more profits, or if imports get taxed more, or if the currency devalues, you are going to get inflation. There's nothing unsual about it.

I have APD. Sometimes, especially if you don't have my full attention (like if you aren't talking to me and then start talking to me) I genuinely cannot understand human words. I can hear the sounds and tell you what it rhymes with occasionally but it just doesn't sort itself into words, or takes a minute to do so. Get my full attention before talking to me, make sure I can see your mouth (helps with the and idk why) and speak clearly, then get mad at me for not understanding. If you don't do that, it isn't my fault I've got APD

Thinking that you can just say things once, and then that should be it, is a bit naive. As we do not have a limitless memory, some sort of sorting and prioritisn needs to take place as we simply do not have capacity to store everything. The system for choosing what sticks and what goes is infact rather primitive, so what is priorised to be valuable enough to be stored is generally that which we use often, e.i. what is repeated...and then there is the hack that important things, e.i. those that cause a lot of emotions, is also in general remembered (e.i. touching a hot plate hurts). So you'll just have to be prepared to say something over and over again, as humans are imperfect, and we are constantly flooded with information, and you have to adapt to that fact.

As a Brit, I was at the airport, trying to pay for some stuff, and joined what I thought was the end of the queue. I woman tapped me on the shoulder and said something along the lines of the crazy queue up the middle of the shop. I raised my eyebrows and shrugged. It was chaos and I was feeling very discombobulated (wow I can't believe I got that into a sentence!). She tried again and said I had joined in the middle of the queue. I was mortified. 50 years of social conditioning. Don't queue jump folks, this is the 11th commandment.

That I live in a country that can't seem to get it's s**t together. 1. We complain about the number of shootings, yet we still refuse to address mental health as an issue that needs serious funding and resources to allow people to get the help they need. 2. We have some of the best medicine in the world, but you can only get it if you are willing to shell out your current and any future life savings. The fact healthcare for a dying person can be withheld if they can't pay boggles the mind. 3. That we have fields of work that are vastly understaffed, but fail to see that low pay and expensive colleges are to blame instead of using the excuse that people are lazy. 4. That our own basic selfishness prevents us from doing something for the safety of your fellow man out of a deranged belief that your government finds you important enough to keep you under their thumb. 5. The fact that our situation is getting worse everyday, but we are like cattle to the slaughter voting in members of the same two political parties and hoping that their own personal agendas won't stand in the way of actual progress...again. I hate that nothing changes and everything is this endless cycle of stupidity and selfishness.

America actually has rather poor healthcare. (something like 30th in the world). Largely down to the fact America is the only developed country that doesn't have a federal healthcare system. Only state wide small healthcare businesses. A lot of the problems are around Americans thinking they have it better, than it actually is.

All you say is true. I would also add to your #1.....we desperately need common-sense gun laws, like background checks, 24 hr. wait period, NO unlicensed gun sales, NO military-style weapons. Notice that I am NOT advocating for taking guns away - except from abusers and convicted criminals. I am advocating for being more careful with guns. If we treated guns like we treat cars and driving, THAT would be a major step forward.

Yup. There is actually only ONE 'race' of humans - the human race. Anything else - skin color, eye color, hair texture - is simply a mutation to make it easier for those humans to thrive where they have settled. Dark skin - protection against tropical sun. Light skin - adaptation for those who live in northern latitudes to soak up enough vit. D.

This is so relatable, and I even start to judge myself, thinking I have no right to be sad, that I'm over reacting. This all comes from the peopel who don't understand. They don't know that it sinks in, and you begin to agree they you shouldn't be sad. That your just blowing it out of proportion. This is coming from somone who cries easily, somone who has dealt with sh*t time and time again, but remember that you have a right to have feelings. You ate not over reacting. You are not as sensitive as peopel call you, you may heav depression or other disorders, but you are a person and deserve help. You can't just get over it. We all have ups and downs, but disorders are different. Peopel need to learn to understand and try to help, how ever that is.

My younger sister was the worst person to wake up ever, up to age of 6-8ish. What made it even worse is because she would literally fall asleep anywhere and anytime, like on the toilet and face all in her plate of food and even on a very bumpy hay ride in a pumpkin patch lol. I would dread waking her up anytime I was asked to, my sister was absolutely miserable when woken up, screaming, crying and literally acted as if it was the end of the world. Thankfully she grew out of it for the most part..lol.

Respect my lack of religion and I'll respect you following your beliefs. 2) Often goes hand in hand with the first one, but when people are clearly hypocrites. 3) Any attempt by someone else to control my life automatically triggers me. I had a woman at my church tell me if I wasn't going to try and save my cousin (atheist) than we were both going to hell and deserved it. Well i would much rather have a healthy happy relationship with my cousin rather than have him alienate himself because I wouldn't stop trying to force something on him he didn't agree with. And can I just say it's not very Christian-ly to tell someone they deserve hell, is it? Nope!! Believe or don't believe in whatever you want just don't be a d*ck to others! That's my motto!

"Christian" bible-thumpers are the worst of humanity. They are under the impression that they are the ONLY ONES that live a righteous life, and all others are going to suffer the flames of hell. They have pictures of "Jesus" in their homes showing a blue-eyed white boy, failing to admit that Christ was a Mid-Eastern, dark skinned man. If Jesus came back to earth today, they would probably nail Him up again.

Roe vs Wade overturn. Humans are not going extinct. Get over it. Seems like we are heading for quantity of life instead of quality of living for those already here. What good is it to bring more children into poverty, Is it good for the children they suffer a life of possible starvation or homelessness? This country has few social safety programs and even less for low income parents to have paid childcare. Suffering poor children are better than non-existent children I guess.

I assure you, an abortion is not a convenience. It is a decision that is not taken lightly, and is a serious medical procedure. That said, there are many reasons and situations that would legitimately drive a woman to this choice. The point is no one, including you, has any business telling a woman how she should approach that decision.

It's not right. People should be allowed to disagree with someone's opinion. People should be allowed to down vote, it's their opinion too. But unless you're saying something blatantly hateful/offensive, you should not be banned. One night I was really stoned and decided to make a silly, nonsensical comment on every thread in a post. Apparently that really upset a lot of people, and I got a temporary ban. You can't be arbitrarily silly on BP.

They lifted the ban, for which I'm grateful. But people downvoting others because they disagree with their statements is wrong. Banning should be limited to hateful comments and spammers.

War crimes, Crimes Against Humanity and the US in particular breaks international law in order to fuel this. The reasons why it does this are bizarre. This is done to ensure donations from the religious right Christians (no, it's not a Jewish conspiracy) They will contribute heavily to candidates who back their views. Their views aren't to be supportive of Israel or of Jewish people but are actually to push towards bible prophecies bringing Armageddon. The reason this sounds seriously flaky is because it IS..

68 year olds are NOT the problem. According to the Census, 76% of people 65-74 voted in 2020 while only 51% of people 18-25 did. My 26 year old has never voted because he moved to a red state for college and thinks his vote doesn't matter. None of his friends do either and they are all very progressive in their views. When I lived in Virginia, it went from a solid red state to a mostly blue one (recent backslide, unfortunately). But that will never happen if you don't vote. If young adults become a powerful voting bloc, a lot of politicians would change their policies. Very few Republican office holders, especially at the National level, are Christian fundamentalists, but those people are very loud and vote regularly, so the Repubs all have to pretend that they believe in their views. Their playbook is clearly working; you need to steal some plays from it, and the easiest one is to VOTE.

Right now it’s christians thinking their religion should discrete how other people live their lives and make their own decisions. My other mother in law (step?) keeps posting bible c**p to slam abortion. It just makes me want to slap her. Not everyone follows the same religion or any religion for that matter! It’s not like she follows her own bible anyways!! She and her husband have tattoos. They wear mixed fabrics. They work on Sundays. They don’t follow their own religion that closely so why do they expect everyone in the world to? They have a daughter. I love that kid dearly but she’s weird. They’ve made her weird. She isn’t a normal child and it’s because they’ve hidden her away in religious home school programs and limit everything she does. That’s their right as her parents. I know that and I don’t ever get between them. So why are they trying to be in everyone else’s business? Just because someone else is on a diet, doesn’t mean everyone is. Just because someone doesn’t agree with gay marriage, doesn’t mean they can stop someone who does! They are just the most narrow minded people. I’ve tried to talk with them before in childish synonyms and ridiculous metaphors but they just don’t listen and I’m angry. I can’t actually fight back because then we’d lose that kid forever. I can’t handle that. So I have to make up half playful put downs without making waves and I just hate it. I hate knowing that they’re raising her racist, homophobic, transphobic, and every other “-phobic” you can think of. I hate the misinformation they spread about everything they hear. Covid? China virus but it’s fake. Abortion? Devil sacrifice dating back a thousand years. Gay? It’s a choice and since it is a choice they must worship the devil to want to go to hell. Trans? Liberal media brainwashing children to serve the devil. Ridiculous c**p. I refuse to let other people’s religions dictate my life.

Why 'sensitive' subjects? Slavery happened. Teach about its horrors so they aren't repeated. LGBTQ+ people? As long as there have been people, there have been LGBTQ+ people - it's a fact and teaching should deal with facts as they come up. Women's bodies. Well, women have bodies and are just over 50% of the world's population. Don't treat women's bodies - and their bodily functions - like they are something disgusting. If I ran the zoo, every middle-schooler and high- schooler should take a matter-of-fact 'sex' education class. The US seems to be stuck in its puritan times.

I hate it when people call animals it. Its like you are calling the animal an object, and we are animals too. They are putting animals (many whom we are treating horribly) below us.

Babies, too, especially when the person knows the sex or the name of the baby. Calling a baby or an animal "it" does sound like they're being reduced to a second class creature.

I thought about that a lot, actually. I think maybe we say "it" when referring to a being that relies on us for protection, love and sustenance-so, yes, babies included. I think its cute and reminds you of your responsibility to care for them.

We objectify a LOT of life forms on this planet it's really sad. Personally I feel like when we treat them as second class life forms it makes it easier for humans to justify exploiting them.

With all the talk of pronouns I had begun to wonder why we even use them? If we are giving a physical description of someone wanted or missing then yeh, I get it. But when we're telling a story about something that happened like someone losing their ticket on the train, say, why do we include it then? We are literally including their genitals in the story. Like 'I saw someone on the train and their ticket flew out the window' Vs 'I saw this penisowner on the train and his ticket flew out the window' The story doesn't improve by knowing he owns a penis, it's not relevant. But I've noticed there's a tendency in the US in particular to include skin color (only if not white) in this too. So it would becomes 'I saw black penisowner's ticket fly out the window' This is some wacky s**t, stop it..

Not angry. Sad. Despairing. North Korea. So much there. Also we’re the only country other than North Korea that doesn’t recognize Parental Alienation as a violation of children’s human rights. Americans have to be in poverty to have any social safety net so I can’t afford to work or I’ll lose my health insurance. My medical costs are at least $20K every month so I try to tell myself I make $20,000 per month. Myself calls BS on that. I’m sad about the non-supreme Supremes and the criminal ways they were approved. I’m sad going all the way back to Gerald Ford’s pardon of Nixon, normalizing criminal activity in the government and Newt Gingrich’s declaration of hatred on the left.

For those who are wondering (probs going to get downvoted), foie gras is basically duck liver, but it’s fed on a special diet that is force fed by a funnel. It’s banned in many places, but many enthusiasts will go and eat it for the rich, fatty flavor. Never tried it, but I know someone who had and says it’s weird.

Parents who put their children's lives in danger by doing something stupid. How many children have been hurt or killed in zoos by dangerous animals because the parents decided to lower their kid over the barrier for a better look only to lose their grip and drop them. Then there's the parents who go down an escalator with the baby still in the stroller instead of using the elevator.

The lack of structure and accountability across society and public life in general. There is so much regulation and so many regulatory bodies, so many private and public services and everything is the fault of the citizen. If you have a public service you have to make an account, give all your information and submit it yourself, so what is the service exactly? When you get a license or a certificate or something the issuing body says "we do not take responsibility for the validity of this candidate" and other legalese. Really? Then what are you issuing certificates for?

Random people being rude to me. Example. Yesterday I was walking in the mall, pretty crowded. I have bone & blood issues in my limbs, meaning I react quite badly to temperature fluctuations. We're not sure what it is but its genetic and very painful (the same feeling that you get after having a vaccine, if y'know what i mean. Dull but sore and very weak). So I was having a little problem due to the weather changes. My legs ached like hell, so I was slowly walking to find a free place to sit down. A group of highschool students behind me began yelling at me to hurry up. Literally screeching. At a stranger. I mean, granted, they we're apologetic after I told them off, but still. Its not the first time someones been randomly rude to me or my friends either. Something has got to be wrong with people these days. I could have been a really violent person, and they would have gotten hurt. That incident has been ruining my day all week.

Customer service voicemail hell. First, the computer can't understand you. I understand you have a billing issue. NO I want tech support! Then they start haranguing you to go to their website, making you listen to them read out the entire web address like you are going to remember that. If I had a question that could be answered by the website, the only reasons I would be calling are: 1-I don't have access to the internet or 2-I don't know how to use a computer. Then it wants some account number that you don't know because you do online bill paying, or the card is in your wallet somewhere else in the house. Then you may be asked for some pin number that if you do know it, you are so annoyed by now that you can't see what you are entering. So then you are on hold 35 minutes give or take, it starts to connect to a person and then disconnects the call. So, second or third time around, an hour or so later, you get a person and 50% of the time, they are the wrong department or they start reading off all the steps you have already done to solve the issue and that's all they've got, so you get to go through this all a 3rd or 4th time with another number. Sometimes, they come up with something else like your warranty is expired and you have to pay $45 for them to tell you your printer cannot be fixed. Lately I've been getting a choice of music between crappy pop, old fogey jazz or sleep inducing classical, because if you choose silence, you can sit there for an hour and not realize the call has dropped again. I am not normally a big cusser but if anyone is actually monitoring those robot voice services, they are getting an earful.

When my dad asks if I know what a word means. My step mom decided to explain theme to me. I'm in the f*cking fourth grade, of course I know.

The video ads on BP. I am fine with static ads, I know BP needs to make money. But the video ads are so freakin' annoying and distracting, and tapping pause only works for a bit. So I just turn my adblocker back on because I don't want to be enraged.

Adblock. I didn't even know BP has that many ads until a friend who doesn't use adblock told me.

I use an adblocker that is very effective. I turn it off for certain websites that I want to support, like BP. As mentioned, I'm fine with static ads however I can't deal with the distracting videos.
