This ‘Radically Inclusive’ Church Is Making People Laugh With Its Hilariously Creative Signs (30 Pics)
While numbers of people who identify as Christians are gradually declining in Australia, some churches, notably those that appeal to youth and inclusiveness, are bucking the trend.
Melbourne Welsh Church, which describes itself as a radically inclusive church, a warm and welcoming worship community situated near the heart of Melbourne, is just one of these places, moving on with the times and spreading God's word to a new generation of worshippers.
One of the most effective ways to break with the stuffy, serious, and boring reputation that going to church can have is to introduce a healthy dose of a good sense of humor. Melbourne Welsh Church does that through their funny signs, using a mix of witty wordplay, inclusive messages, and funny puns to promote themselves as an enjoyable and welcoming place, no matter who you are!

What is a Trumpist? Somebody who voted for him in the last election? I hope you realize the irony that its people like you who love to be outraged who actually got him elected in the first place because it was a pushback to how far ya'll have swung the pendulum in direction of bullying via phoney social justice. Nobody has more hate in their hearts than SJWs. Congrats! I also love the irony in you excluding people with your message, posted in support of a message of inclusion. I guess diversity of thought doesn't count.

With the world seemingly getting ever more divided, it is more important than ever to celebrate the things that unite us. Humor is one of those things and Siôn, one of the ministers at Melbourne Welsh Church, knows this only too well. "I am the one responsible for most of the religious jokes on the signs," he told Bored Panda.
"They are not designed to attract people (bonus if they do) they are to make people think and also, hopefully, see a different side to Christianity. Not all Christians hate anyone different to them, some of us prefer to live with love."

Sion went on to explain that the signs with christian jokes have garnered plenty of attention for the church, and he even gets request sometimes! "We do get loads of emails and tweets about the signs. Most positive, though not all," he said.
"There are a group of workers over the road who email if we haven’t changed the sign in a while. It’s quite popular."

The hyphen is that little horizontal dash - The irony is that the word 'hyphenated' meaning to have a little dash, has no dash, and the word 'non-hyphenated' meaning without the little dash, has a dash. Hope that makes sense and isn't more confusing than the original post. :)

True, but there is a big difference between acting like a kid and acting like a spoiled brat. Even kids can be respectful if raised to be. The same is true for anything in public though, not just church.

Absolutely.. We had some growing up, and they will run up on your a$$ and try to intimidate you.. and they are very intimidating. I had to kick one back from me one time.. he flew at me, then I made him fly the other way.. he wasn't hurt.. but I was like 10, so no telling what that crazy turkey would've done if I let him fulfill his psychopathic dreams of kicking my 10yr old a$$.. I was happy to get rid of them..

The cardinal will be in reference to George Pell who covered up child sexual abuse by the church in Australia. Instead of facing court he fled to Rome. Google him, you won't have to look hard to find all the news stories.

We've imprisoned children, parents, men and women on Manus and Nauru for many years now, because they dared to seek asylum. (Mind you, if you come by plane and overstay your visa, that's ok. Just don't come by boat escaping persecution!) Our opposition in parliament was able to create a law that meant those who are ill enough can actually be brought into the country for medical care (yes, that law actually had to be created because the government is such a pack of nasty nasty people). This particular incident I cannot recall but it would have been sending an ill child back to either Nauru or its country :( but hey, let's allow George Pell to spend longer at the Vatican despite being required to face child molestation charges (cos he's got many friends in the government)

Pretty sickening, on both the side of Australia's official stance on refugees (a disgrace) and the deep connection between powerful politicians and powerful church leaders, even when they really like little boys in the most disgusting fashion. Yuck.

So inspired. Gonna be a good Friday. I think I'll type some of these up and put them throughout my bedroom and my kids' rooms. I struggle so hard with religion, and I want so bad to find an inclusive church like this. Small town in rural Georgia (USA) here... we have like 8 bigot Baptist churches in a 5 mile radius. They DO NOT love everyone... saddest thing to not be able to take my 4 kids to a church that preaches LOVE- that's all I want. So I do it myself with my incredible husband. My kids will be tolerant and accepting and their future is incredibly bright.

As a Christian I love the message that this church is sending. Usually when Bored Panda shares about churches or Christianity, they are shown in as bad a light as possible, so this is a refreshing surprise to see here.
