Once upon a time, ice-covered volcanoes cut the Earth
One of the most amazing places to see are the Icelandic waterfalls. Take a look at the 62-meter strong Skogafoss. You can climb up the staircase to the observation deck. It runs along the slopes above the water (a beautiful panoramic view opens up from here) or you can enjoy the fresh breeze, the fog and the rainbow at the bottom. P.S.: A legend says that one inhabitant hid a chest full of gold behind the waterfall!

And if these places to visit aren’t enough for you, Iceland has prepared the Kerid volcanic lake for you to see. The lake formed around 6500 years ago atop a volcano. The sapphire-colored lake contrasts beautifully with red volcanic rocks that surround it. And if the lake was not gorgeous enough, there is another, less steep slope, covered with rich green moss. From the top, you can see hundreds of craters made by active volcanoes, and that makes it look like the surface of the Moon. By the way, this piece of art has been called the most beautiful waterfall in the country. It is one of the most remote and hard to reach places in Iceland. From the main road, you will have to look for an appropriate pedestrian walkway and hike for about half an hour. There were moments when I felt completely lost, though I somehow managed to stay within the tourist paths. What you will see when you reach your goal will be worthwhile and will remain memorable for all your life. Enjoy the romantic evening with the natural surroundings, and make an exceptional photosoot from the bridge.
