#1 is incorrect. He díed from a combination of acute gastroenteritis (several of his cabinet members were suffering from the illness at the same time) and his doctors' overenthusiastic use of ipecac (an emetic), mercury, quinine, and ópium, along with being bled and blistered. The fruit may have exacerbated the gastroenteritis but it was not what kílled him.
