I'd speculate that it's more to do with how our bodies regulate salt and sugar intake. Eat enough salt and you'll find it less and less appealing, and you might begin to be disgusted by it. At that point, if you eat something sweet then that seems to have a resetting effect, and then you are no longer disgusted by the salty food and might crave more of it. Vice versa. I think it probably has something to do with that. It's actually a psychological/physiological trick that is utilised a lot in the hospitality industry; e.g. they sometimes have free salty snacks at a bar or in a gambling room to keep you drinking more - the salt makes you seek out carbohydrates (such as in the alcohol, which is itself basically a more complex form of sugar, and even in a sugarless concoction the alcohol itself metabolises into sugars - in fact there is more calories, that is more energy, in sugarless beers, for example, than there is in the sugar removed from them, which accounts for a very small percentage of the total calories) and the carbohydrates make you seek out salt. The overall effect is a satisfaction or contentedness that keeps you in your seat for longer. Restaurants often do it by checking up that you have enough to drink. It's also why chips, nuts and crackers are themselves often moreish - the chip and biscuit is itself high in carbohydrates, and sit it on your tongue and allow it to dissolve and you'll notice that it's sweet. Many nuts are also high in carbohydrates as well as fats, which also metabolise to sugars, and the fattier, softer nuts tend to have a sweetness to the flavour.

I used to love Kit \Kats washed down by peanuts - wonderful and then I found out that Kit Kats were made by Nestle. so no longer buy them.

It is, it's also easy to make. Cook thr bacon in the oven till crispy. Pat dry with paper towels and let cool. Spoon bakers chocolate over it and stick in the freezer or fridge till hard. I prefer freezer so it's a cool treat.
