‘Cards Against Humanity’ Sends Checks To Their Lowest-Earning Customers And It’s Bringing Attention To Wealth Inequality
594Kviews
‘Cards Against Humanity’ has just proven itself to be, actually, one of the most ‘humane’ companies out there. In a truly Robin Hood-inspired move, they’ve ‘redistributed’ various sums of money to their lowest-earning customers, all at the expense of those earning the most. So, how did they pull it off?
Last month, the brazen game-makers asked their faithful fans to donate $15 in order to help them buy a piece of land straddling the U.S.-Mexico border, which would greatly complicate Donald Trump’s future attempts to build a wall across it. They called it ‘Cards Against Humanity Saves America.’ As it turns out, they’re saving the nation in more ways than one by tackling an even bigger issue – inequality of wealth.
Using a portion of the cash they received, and going off discreet data they collected from donors, they’ve mailed $1000 checks to 100 customers who they deemed to be their ‘poorest,’ and have refunded a further 10,000 the original $15 they offered. Their richest clients, however, received a very different letter in the mail – one notifying them that the $15 they donated helped pay for it all.
Scroll down to see how the campaign is unfolding, and let us know if you’ve received any letters from the folks at ‘Cards.’

“Dear Citizen,
In order to deliver on our promise to save America, we knew we needed to tackle our country’s biggest issue: wealth inequality. The richest 0.1% of Americans have as much wealth as the bottom 90%.
Our lawyers wouldn’t let us pursue our first choice – a campaign to eat all the rich people and live in their houses – so we settled for something more achievable. Today, Cards Against Humanity has redistributed everyone’s wealth.
We’ve got some good news and some bad news. Let’s start with the bad: according to the survey you filled out when you signed up for CAH Saves America, you are one of the poorest 100 recipients. Now for the good news: you’re getting a check for $1,000, paid for by everyone else. Yes, the check is real, and you can actually cash it. To read more about other people who got $1,00, check out CardsAgainstHumanityRedistributesYourWealth.com.
I love you,
Cards Against Humanity
P.S. The next 10,000 poorest recipients got a $15 refund check. But who cares about them.
Others received a refund of the original $15 (base donation) they gave to the company

A large majority of people, however, received this letter, which perfectly explains it all

You got nothing. And if you don’t like it, tough titties.
I love you,
Cards Against Humanity”

“We think these stories are a clear demonstration of how much $1,000 means to someone struggling to pay for basic necessities”
Here’s how the company planned the ‘wealth redistribution’ based on data they collected from donors

Cards against humanity? More like cards for humanity, as the guy suggested above
Ben, I'd like to point out that the article says "A PORTION." Meaning that the rest of the money is going exactly where they said. Hope that clears up some of your rage regarding this.
$15.00 USD x 150,000 shareholders = $2.25 million USD. This promotion cost them 100 x $1,000 USD = $100,000 USD, so they have a bit of cash left. I also really enjoyed the Black Friday *Prongles* publicity stunt, probably financed from this kitty as well. Three more great promotions to go!

Yep, nothing like lying to people to get their money and giving it to causes that you believe in...
Absolutely shocking that you'd whine and bitch about this, Ben. SHOCKING.

@Debbie...they money was for the land on the US/Mexican border. At least that's what people thought. Then they used it for something else. That's called "stealing."

LOL, BYP, quit yer yelling. You're right, if I donate money to a food pantry, I can't control what they buy or who they give the food to. If, however, I give money to an organization that TELLS me it's for a specific cause and they turn around, admit they stole the money, and give it to someone else...that's not charity. That's STEALING and DISHONESTY. It's fairly clear.
1, they said NOTHING about stealing, thats your words. 2, stealing means it was taking unwillingly, they are donations THEY ARE NOT TAKEN! 3, they are a comedy game, get over it, they are legitimately trolling people like you who take issue with random BS. 4, they have done random crap every year around this time, its no surprise. 5, they ALSO said to donors they would be sending out 6 surprises in December. guess what? its December SURPRISE! they are doing exactly what they said they would with the money. you have no case and nor would anyone else!
I'm sorry you're so broke that $15 would literally break you.

Would you be okay if someone took your charitable donation and gave it to a cause you didn't agree with? Of course you wouldn't, and that's why this is so wrong. Misappropriation is misappropriation, I don't care how noble your intentions are. You take someone else's money and do something with it that they didn't sign up for.
The government does that to our taxes you know...I want the pot holes filled in the streets but they use it for all kinds of stuff I don't agree with.
uh if i make a donation to something i dont get to choose what it is used on. THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF MAKING A DONATION! YOU BENEFIT SOMETHING YOU APPROVE OF WITH MONEY AND MAKING NO DECISIONS WITH IT! its misappropriation if you expected something back, a service. or if money you are FORCED to give is used in causes they are not meant for. donations cannot be controlled by the giver. you don't like it? don't donate.
@Full name - Are you usually this stupid or have done some sort of majors in stupidity?
Are you seriously complaining about this?!
@Ben Smith, you cannot sue over donations. are you even half legally knowledgeable? if that was possible USA politicians would be in so much red tape!

Um...SJ are you kidding? They took money they got for a specific cause and did something else with it. They straight up lied about their intentions with the money. It's nothing short of stealing now and as Full Name said, lawsuits will follow for people to get their money back. This is a ridiculous PR stunt, nothing more and is going to backfire on them big time.

How are they doing the right thing by admitting they're stealing from people? Please explain your reasoning.

Sigh...no BYP, but you can sue over stealing. It's amazing how uneducated people are on this site.
Look how happy the people are! How wonderful!
