Tumblr Users Tell Vegans That There’s An Ethical Way To Eat Eggs And Honey
As the common saying goes, there are different strokes for different folks, especially when it comes to food preferences. That being said, there are always people who never miss a chance to patronize others a little bit whenever they can, even when it comes to food. It’s probably safe to say that vegans get the most of everything, from plain hatred to getting bombed with scientific facts by random strangers. This story probably balances somewhere in between these two. Some people gathered on Tumblr to teach vegans a lesson and they even gathered some personal experiences to prove their point of why eating eggs and honey is not really that unethical as some vegans may think. Scroll down to explore their arguments!

Pointing out eating eggs and honey might be not at all that unethical
And some people sure had to try prove it wrong

Backyard eggs are one thing, but that isn't where the vast majority of eggs come from. Here's an idea, though. Let's allow people to eat or NOT eat whatever their heart desires without "shaming" or "calling out" anyone for doing what they feel is best.
But without SHAMING someone once a day, you're nothing nowadays. How could we not? *sarcasm off* I hate that nowadays it's either shaming, calling out, or roasting. Everywhere. -.-
Do you realize you are doing exactly what you criticize ?
Vegans lose that privilege the second they imply people who do eat meat, eggs and honey are immoral. You gonna try to shame us? We're gonna shame you right back.
Yes because vegans are better than than non-vegans, of course we are.

I don't shame anyone, and never have, for their diet choices, but thanks for the completely unprovoked show of anger, it totally makes you look like the reasonable party here.
Susie, your reaction to Bored Moogle is a perfect example of the reason that most people hate talking to vegans. I’ve been called a murderer, a rapist and a psychopath for my dietary and vocational choices; I’ve been told that I deserve to be beaten, electrocuted, burned in an oven, and quite a few other clever ways to put a person to death because I raise and eat meat. I’ve yet to see any omnivore say anything close to this to a vegan. So, no, the reaction is not unreasonable, though I think you go too far to assume that it’s made in anger. Most of my own responses are amused incredulity, not hostile, but I do agree with Moogle that vegans lose the privilege of moral superiority when they act with unleashed hyperbolic outrage towards others without any basis in fact or reason.
Julia if you are in for example Australia there are laws about animal cruelty ( while alive and in the killing process ). You would need to check them out and do it right.
Australia has some of the worst documented treatment of sheep ever.
Omg everyone please stop fighting,of course everyone has their owns opinions on everything but fighting about it isn’t gonna fix anything. Sharing our opinions shouldn’t start a fight either. Honestly I’d rather try to see it from the other persons perspective and actually try what their doing, see why they do what they do and see if i can agree with them in anyway. If i cant then ill say i disagree with you opinion to be honest and explain why. But if they start to fight with me ill just leave them .-.
Well eating meat means there is an innocent victim so by not eating dead animal or dead animal products of course we are better than you. It is up to everyone what they eat but don't think vegans aren't morally better people, we are.

What if I want to eat my pet hamster, then? Do I have a right to not get "shamed" or "called out"?
In South America they eat guinea pigs....
I don't understand why you couldn't, health hazard appart what's the difference between an hamster, a rat a frog or a cow? We eat horses and rabbits here, we used to eat cats too, i don't see what's wrong with it.
If you wanna eat a rodent, there’s nothing wrong with it, but breed the hamster first so there’s more than one bite. Groundhog, squirrel and guinea pigs are delicious; I imagine in quantity hamster would be good sautéed in butter.
Julia, only if you dip your hamster in honey mustard first.
Yep. There is nothing wrong with eating a hamster.
I have chickens too! The eggs are way better quality than any store bought I've ever had, because the chickens are actually well taken care of.
plus they're really cute :)
But terrifying... there's a farm near my house that I visit and they try to peck at my legs incessantly :(
Definitely!
backyard chicken eggs are amaziiiinggggggg
I farm, I raise chickens and honeybees amongst my livestock. What I think is hilarious is that vegans believe that almonds and avocados are vegan, but they aren’t. Every season, some of my own beeboxes are shipped with thousands and thousands of others for the fruit flowering season throughout Florida, the Southwestern US and Mexico. All of those almond and avocado orchards, pollinated by my bees, then shipped back to me so that I can extract that floral honey. Bees work for your fruit and nuts, people.
Resting, the very strict vegans are aware of this and won't eat avocados etc. The vegan because trying to help environment won't eat food that has been transported huge distances.
The vast majority of vegans are not aware of this, as evidenced by their common arguments on YouTube, the followers of “Plaunt Based News” and other social media venues. Neither do they eat local. You can excuse them til the cows come home but, speaking as a lifelong agrarian, vegans of all stripes are doing far more damage to the environment at large than all of the omnivores on the planet. Bulldozing millions of acres of Mexican forests to plant orchards for vegan demands of “local” or “continental” fruit is not helping anything but the pockets of the cartels.
So vegans wouldn't eat natural products because they were pollinated by bees? I mean, it's not that the bees are forced labourers, they just do what nature developed them to do - they fly onto flowers and eat. Pollination is just a by-product that harms noone in the slightest. So what the heck is wrong with these people?
Exactly. What’s wrong with them is that they’re all infantilised nutters who think with their emotions and not any critical logic. They anthropomorphize animals to the point of obescience and then can’t understand why people don’t bow to their well publicized temper-tantrums.
Well, I've never met a vegan who won't eat foods pollinated by insects. That would be ridiculous. If those people exist, they are very rare.
