A former US jail in Phoenix, Arizona has been transformed into a home for abused or neglected animals.
Inmates at a nearby women’s prison have been tasked with caring for the dogs and cats as part of their rehabilitation program.
The initiative was adopted by MCSO Animal Safe Haven (MASH) Unit in a former jail that has been a shelter for animals since 2000.

This is an awesome program - it teaches inmates responsibility and accountability. The dogs get masses amounts of attention and training.
