If you’ve been with Bored Panda long enough, you might be able to recall quite a few of our articles featuring strange apartments all over the world. For instance, a few months ago, we wrote an article about this bizarre $1.5 million apartment in London that has a pool sitting in the middle of it. We’ve also discussed this odd loft apartment located in New York that has a shower installed in the kitchen. Today, it’s finally time to add another weird apartment to our unofficial strange apartment list.

Jamie was apartment-hunting in London when he made a bewildering discovery in the kitchen of a property he was inspecting

Jamie Wilkes was in the midst of an apartment viewing when he accidentally discovered that the property he was inspecting had a truly peculiar exit to the back garden. The man came across a bizarre set of stairs behind a cabinet door in a kitchen that otherwise looked completely normal. “Viewed a flat today and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to stop thinking about the back door,” Jamie wrote in the tweet featuring the video.

Basically instead of leaving it open they just slapped a countertop on top of it to have more prep space. It feels more like a tiny kitchen solution than a secret entryway thing.

only thing i would add would be a slide lock for the one person who would come up the stairs while prepping food. other than that, i think it's genius.
