61 Restaurants Promote Their Food With AI Images That Leave Customers Seriously Confused
Ever since AI entered our lives, many people have been concerned about it eventually taking our jobs. Others see it as just another tool, arguing that human judgment still needs to stay in the loop to check the results and make sure everything actually makes sense.
Whatever the future might bring, people and businesses already use AI for all kinds of everyday tasks, and they do not always use it well. People across the internet are sharing bizarre restaurant food ads that appear to rely heavily on AI-generated images. And in most cases, the results are so grotesque they belong in horror movies.
These examples are a pretty good reminder that AI can generate an image, but it still can’t replace the human touch.

Ok, but if you can't afford a professional photographer, just take a picture yourself. You can have it touched up by AI if really needed. But no one's looking for the next cover of Vogue while browsing for food. Many restaurants in my town don't even HAVE pictures. Some have pics probably taken on their grandparents' landline phone. It's alright. I want to see what the food looks like, not what a plastic rendition for a playset would look like.

I love the cute animals - I draw a lot of anthropomorphic cute animals myself, so I'm a big fan of the style. But there are SO many artists out there who could produce these exact images without the soullessness of AI of the ones above. And not all the artists out there charge megabucks for their art.
