When it comes to goodest boys and bestest girls, we think that every single doggo deserves a 10 out of 10 for making our lives more cheerful and bringing smiles to our faces. But Matt Nelson, who created the WeRateDogs Twitter page, has a unique way for dog ratings, pairing them with adorable comments, and often scores far above 10. In fact, scores are beside the point—the funny comments are what won Nelson a solid fan base and 8.7 million followers.
Combining humor and passion for canines, WeRateDogs started as a side hustle and is now a part of a successful all-things-doggo brand. It includes a WeRateDogs book, a phone game, and an online clothing store which is said to earn the creator something in the low five figures monthly.
So, let’s get into the funny dog and pupper ratings that have been winning everyone’s hearts since 2015.

God I love this. What wonderful volunteers to coordinate the sweethearts return! Renews SOME of my faith in mankind. I’m still hurting from Maggie, #1. How she survived such brutality shows her indomitable spirit. May both these dogs know only kindness for the rest of their lives.❤️

My dog’s OK with fireworks—-he’s even gone with me to watch them. It’s my 3 cats who need a lot of TLC while the fireworks show is going on.

Since the first dog photo rating post aired in 2015, Nelson’s approach to We Rate Dogs has changed. At first, it was all about making a joke as funny as possible, but now, most of the time, he evaluates social-media analytics, calculates profits, and responds to emails. One may think of the influence the school has had on the young entrepreneur, but Nelson is quite bitter. "The only thing I owe to this school is the boredom that caused me to start the account in the first place," he said to Esquire.

A local chicken farmer, Swampy Marsh, suggested Maremma guardian dogs could be used to protect the penguins. Swampy had successfully used Maremmas to help protect his free range chickens. In a world-first, Maremma dogs were trained and placed on Middle Island to protect the penguins from foxes during the breeding season. The project has been a huge success using guardian dogs for conservation and raising community support and awareness of the environment.. You’ve probably noticed that many cute dogs on WeRateDogs Twitter have special needs—some of them have experienced abuse, while others have health conditions.
Bored Panda spoke to Antonio Diaz, K9 Trainer and behavioral specialist, about what it’s like to adopt an animal who needs that extra care. According to Antonio, even if the “special needs” are relative, there are a couple of things to be considered. First, “the vet bills and unforeseen responsibilities” are higher. He explains: “Any person wanting to take on a dog like this should first fully understand the time, dedication and possible financial responsibility that they will acquire. The last thing you want to happen is to have unrealistic expectations and need to rehome the dog.”

We had a lab cross who was the silliest, most loveable dog ever. Only time I ever heard her growl was when the cat would go under her chin and start eating her food. Then there would be a growl that sounded like it emanated from the bowels of hell. The cat ignored it so she would run to me to get rid of the cat and let her have her grub in peace! LOL

On the other hand, some very healthy dogs might also need an extra bit of care. “For example, an extremely fearful dog can certainly be considered special needs due to the fact that they need extra care, special handling procedures and behavioral training, all of which require more time, patience and attention to detail.”
In the end, it all comes down to the amount of attention the owner is willing to give their adorable pet. In the end, having a dog at home always requires work. “The idea of loving any silly dog and having them be a part of your family is wonderful. But the reality of the work involved can quickly change things for some people.” Antonio adds that “not everyone is cut out for it and that’s okay.”

That happened in my area. It was an amazing story, just amazing. It was this doggo's first outing in a rescue situation This beautiful boy, his handler, and the young man who was volunteering are heroes!

I fostered a Golden who loved to do this. She'd walk around slowly wagging from the rib-cage to the tip of her tail. So pleased and the sock was never soggy.

OH! I know about this alllll to well. We have the BEST Golden Retriever ever and we are always looking for that specific sock or shoe. We laugh everyday with her and she truly is the smartest dog I’ve ever owned. Always showing me where the bunny nests are in the backyard. She wants to adopt every one she finds!

Yes! Most emergency vet clinics also do blood donations. Your dog needs to be a large breed since they have more blood & have some to spare.
