Are you planning your next vacation? Then better check this map by International SOS and Control Risks to see if you’ll come back alive. Zika virus and terrorism made 72 percent of people believe that travel risks are higher in 2017 compared to 2016. In addition, 57 percent expect 2018 to be even more dangerous.
The map was released together with Ipsos Mori survey, that provides insights about travelers’ experiences around the globe. While potential terror attacks are the main concerns (51 percent), in reality, the biggest harm comes from petty crime and poor road safety.
According to this year’s research, the most dangerous countries are Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Libya, Darfur, Somalia, South Sudan, as well as Timbuktu and Kidal regions in Mali. On the flip side, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, Switzerland, and Slovenia are thought to be the safest. Main criteria for rating a country’s danger level were its government’s exercised control and the threat of various kinds of violence to travelers.

Is it joke??? Poland or Slovakia are more dangerous than France or Belgium?!?! Haha are you kidding? LOL, please tell me about 1 (ONE!!!) terrorist attack in Poland/Slovakia. Our countries are most safest in whole world but of course your political correctness doesn't allow you to tell the truth. Believe me you have a 10 times greater chance to be robbed in France, Germany, Belgium, Holland than in Poland. United States safer than my country XDDDDDD LOL. Nice try lefties.
Terrorist attacks hardly define danger in a country. More people die from walking through a red traffic light on a daily basis, than people die from terrorist attacks. I get the feeling this list is made with attention to diseases and health care, otherwise Venezuela would light up a very bright red since it is home to the most dangerous cities in the world.
I live in France and I'm not afraid. It's a quite cool place to live. Maybe you didn't see that the map is for medical risk... No mention of terrorism!
This was made by people who never traveled. Be easy...
Hi hi.. think you forgot to choose the drop down bar at the top right hand corner. The default is on medical risk. And so poland is in yellow and france in green. But if you choose the travel risk, poland is very safe. They have transport risk to select too.
The funny part is that I live in Belgium and I was never robbed here... The only place I was robbed was... in Warsaw :)) I guess this has to be seen through more than just the safety or the terrorist attacks, there is probably a bigger picture. Small example : if you are gay in Belgium or the Netherlands, nobody will give a crap, but in eastern europe countries it's still can be problematic. But to tell you the truth I don't care at all, I'm living with a croat and I just LOVE eastern Europe :))
i think statistics give bigger picture than personal experience, i'm polish, I was robbed once in my life in my home country. During my 4 day visit in Barcelona with friends we had 3 attempts of being robbed, all thankfully avoided. I could assume Spain is very unsafe judging by my experience but i know better.
Croatia isn't an eastern Europe.
even south Africa? Really??
not all of Belgium is dangerous... only the clusterfuck called Brussels
Poland is safe from extremist islamic terror attacks, but those ultra-catholic politicians that recently got the power want to make abortion illegal are also part of the "danger" because these people don't have free will. There are also many super homophobes, but at least they are not dangerous or agressive like the ones in the Middle East or Africa - so Poland should be yellow.
I think you looked wrong map. France is Green on Medical Map, Not Security Map. On Security Map, just a few countries have Green Color like Finland, Norway.
At the right top corner you can see an option to choose travel, medical and road safety. Each one of them show really different situations in each country.
where are our cars?
Same with Lithuania :)))
Its probably because Poland is more likely to be Invaded, or at least more likely to be first.
Obviously, you didn't notice that the map is about MEDICAL RISK.
"Zika virus and terrorism" medical risk is terrorism?
So, even if it is, South Africa is still safer then Poland with it's terrible crime rate and over 20% population HIV positive :) Idiotic map.
Um no. READ the descriptions of the colors, it is supposed to be ALL about political risk, NOTHING about medical risk. Obviously, you didn't read a thing!! The map is ridiculous.
Bravo!
Well, maybe you didn't noticed that the map is for MEDICAL RISK, not terrorism. I live in France & it's a quite cool place to live. I've never been robbed or stabed or get kicked... Obviously, you don't know France...
I was in Paris and Nice 2 days and I saw more soldiers than in my country in my whole life. When I was there I met Parisian woman and she told me a lot about situation in France. I know that France is ultra-friendly country and French people are very nice and helpful but because of your liberal policy (I mean migration policy) France is not the same country as 30 years ago. You have really big problem with African and Middle Eastern imigrants. I didn't feel save when I saw homeless black people who were looking at me all the time. I'm not a racist I like everyone and I have friends from many countries. I think that these people ("refugees")come from completly different culture - different than ours. When I travel I know that in other countries I'm a guest and I behave like a guest. I belive that respect is most important think in migration/travel whatever. Unfortunately these people want to make France their home and they put their culture above yours. Greetings ;)
Whoever made U.S. green has obviously never been in a big city there at night.
SWEDEN one of the safest country in the world XD Panda you made me laugh today! Capture-58...09d74c.jpg
I'd take this picture with a grain of salt. I can imagine that people do _report_ more rapes in Sweden though, than for example in UAE. I think they are also more informed about their rights and what is considered rape, what probably makes the numbers higher.
I live in Sweden and i have been in Poland - in Sweden i have been in peace for so long and never disturbed, in Poland the moment i landed in Warsaw the first thing i noticed were the faces of super homophobes looking at me and my husband. So please. Plus, make that abortion legal before you judge Sweden.
That is a false picture about the sex crimes in Sweden, We have diferent wiews in what we concider to be rape, what we se as rape is not the same as other nations se it.
