I Traveled To Bieszczady, Poland And Found A Winter Wonderland
Ever since I traveled to Bieszczady, Poland, in the fall of 2011, I always thought of coming back in winter imagining those landscapes covered in snow. I managed to do it this month – over four years later. Bieszczady in winter seem even more mysterious and secluded, hidden in the south-eastern corner of Poland overlooking Ukraine and Slovakia.
It’s harder to walk, harder to get up for sunrise and stay until sunset, but weather permitting, the views reward you for every inconvenience. The trails are practically empty, snow is deep, photo opportunities numerous, plus there’s nothing better than a warm meal in front of a fire place in an inn surrounded by a thick night and occasional blizzards.
