This is not a photo, at best it is heavily composited from multiple items. If this was an "art" contest that would be fine, but not for a photography contest. The sky is basically pasted in then flipped for the reflection effect for the water. In order to take a shot of the milkyway you would be taking a 20-30 second exposure. There is no way two people would be able to stand perfectly still for 20 seconds, nor would the dress be positioned like that with the back part of the dress hanging in mid air for 20 seconds. Also, astrophotography shots are typical shot with an ultrawide angle lens to allow for longer exposures without star trails and motion of the milky way, which would mean the people who were on the horizon would be severely pushed to the background and would be tiny in the frame. The perspective here is closer to a "normal" angle of view. There are tonnes of other issues with this image. Here is a photo which I have taken of the milky way, picture the couple on the horizon. Yes. The fact that there's no difference in the milky way sky towards the land kinda got me. Looks like the lake/mountain is hanging in the sky. Still a lovely picture, though.
Load More Replies...This is quite a judicious use of Photoshop. Ethereal and whimsical. Off center focus and interesting use of thirds. Overall I would say this image does fit the bill as a photo to show the "love" of the two and how timeless it is.
You do know that the sky actually looks like this, right? Jesus, get out of the city once in a while.
Load More Replies...Great photo of two people having fun, but nothing in it tells me they are together. I am sure both love the photo as it emotes plenty of fun, humor and glee, but there is simply not a feeling of "togetherness" like the other photos of this subject. Its a good photo, just not properly part of the genre.
I didn't know you were a homophobic idiot until I saw this photo
Load More Replies...Amazing lighting and great subject capture. I love the colors and the surreal ethereal feel of the piece. I wish the subjects had their heads facing each other more (for example if the woman, with here eyes still closed were at least turned slightly to the right toward the man). Amazing composition and beautiful skin tones. Loose the person on the left side of the photo completely out of focus, too much of a distraction. There is so much here to love and so much that needs work....
In another life they were in love and now found each other in this life and all is well with the world.
You seem to have natures approval. Blessed with twice the promise of happiness.
haha yes it was quite cold and the ground just wasn't that comfortable! But they rocked it anyways! :)

Load More Replies...Now this is a photo with love in it. the composition is a bit plain, and the shirts could be something other than the color of the bed, but the subject is amazing, good position and genuine feel of love and compassion. Photographer should have lit the subject on the right a little better, but good placement of hands and arms, good sense of softness with the emotion coming out.
Tony I think these are the same people as above and they cut their hair off for the honey moon. By the way what kind of madscience do you work on? Does it have to do with art?
Load More Replies...Cute subject matter. This would be difficult to get perfect. Some lighting would help though.
I like the silhouettes. If you look at their head and arms, it forms a heart <3

nope, she isnt. and i'm a bit scared that she isn't wearing shoes.
Load More Replies...THIS ONEZ ALMOST NEARLY MY FAV BUT HES ON THE BAK LOL ALL STILL SWEET THO
This is an unfortunate use of space. The man should have been off to the right where she was looking as a way to lead the eye to what she was looking at. Now the eye just wonders off and looses interest. with the subjects so disparate in size you want the look of the foreground subject to lead you to the background subject. The non symmetry of the dress would then not feel forced, and would lead the eye even more. Poor composition. Interesting idea, but poor execution.
Looks like it flew off his head and the camera caught it at the right moment
Load More Replies...There has to be a fascinating story behind this. Perhaps this is where they met as he mistook her bike for his or found she had a flat tire & offered her a ride on his bike home. Or maybe he works there. So many possibilities in this photo but one thing for certain .. it was taken in the name of love.
you are unbelievably positive... great thoughts !!
Load More Replies...Beautiful. I can't help but think this has a 2nd installation where one of them is being creamed by that soccer ball.
Ethereal, otherworldly, interesting use of light and shadow. No real emotions to speak of between the subjects though.
He is thinking .. "She said yes, life doesn't get any better than this. Best day ever."
He was thinking "If she doesn't say yes I will just steal her passport" ... LOL Imagine if she had said no & you were on vacation. Not such a good time to ask IMO. Could have turned out bad. Just saying.
The smile on her face screams: " I'm getting married I don't really care that we can't find a way out of here, I am just so happy .. I am getting married. "
Not a huge fan of this image. It feels like a cosmetics/makeup advertisement to me.
Do people generally have professional photographers on the day they get engaged?
Many people get engaged privately, and then have professional photos taken to send out as "save the date" cards for their wedding date. I assume these were taken after the couple have been engaged.
Load More Replies...How are these even engagement pics? These are professional stock photos...
Where are my lesbians at? I mean yeah, some could totally be lesbians, but it would be great to see some representation up close and personal. That aside, I love the composition, colors, and genuine love you can see in all of these photos. Keep up the great work!
It would have been cool to see a photo representing the lesbian/queer female community
I think the idea is that you send them out to people to say you're engaged rather than "this is the moment in which we were engaged", I had to think about that one aswel as I've never heard of this before. Some of them are really beautiful photos.
