Everyone I meet my cat Ettore ask me what race is. Or even “where did you buy it?”. In reality Ettore was adopted from a shelter for abandoned cats. When we saw him for the first time, me and my husband and Francesco, Ettore was already an adult cat, thin, all dusty. But instinctively I gave him a kiss on the head and I decided that it was him that I wanted. After a month he was with us it exploded with a fantastic beauty. It now has a lot of admirers among our friends and on the internet. Me and Francesco to promote adoptions of adult cats or abandoned elderly have also founded a www.amicidichicco.it blog with a Facebook page. Our slogan is #AdoptNotShop and #adoptaoldercat!

Share on FacebookI just adopted two 8 year old British shorthairs (please Google them) from our local shelter. Their owner passed away. Much drama, much adjustment. They were so traumatized, sadly. Happy to report it took only about a week for one to hesistantly accept me. Took 4 weeks for the other. We are getting along well and are developing routines. They are wonderful cats.
