It started as a little project with a couple of photos for just my family to see. Life and work got in the way, so it then collected dust for a few years. Since becoming a freelancer and allowing myself the time to put back into my (many) little proactive projects, I’ve finally seen this one come to fruition. The result is a website that displays vintage photos from around Brisbane, Australia and through simple user interaction (mouse or touch), the photo transitions to what a photo, that I have taken from the exact same spot, looks like today. I really think it is a unique insight into how Brisbane has (or hasn’t) changed. It can be an intergenerational link, for families who have lived here their entire lives or an interesting insight of our history, for people who have never been. It’s going to be very much an ever expanding and evolving project, but I think it’s at the stage now where I’m ready to share it. I hope, if you have a bit of spare time, that you give it a looksee and that you enjoy what I’ve created. Also, if you think it’s kinda cool, feel free to like/share it. Or follow me on Facebook or Instagram.
