When life gives you lemons, we all know what to do. But what if life takes away your lemons and gives you olives instead? Will you sit there and have a breakdown, or will you try and make olive oil out of it? I know the comparison sounds odd, because it is, but bear with me.
It turns out there’s this whole corner of Reddit called This Is My Life Now dedicated to sharing examples of hoomans and animals getting themselves into unusual situations and… doing a shrug and then going “I guess this is my life now.”
Created back in 2014, the subreddit is home to 879k members who come in for “the gifs or pictures of people and animals accepting their uncommon situations,” just like the description suggests. You may want to interpret it as a meme, or you may not quite get the point and it’s fine. At least we have an entertaining collection of pics of humans and animals getting themselves into (and out of!) funny situations.

I had my dog, Missy. She was a show quality Doberman Pincher, spayed. I had her from 1989 until 2002, she was 12.5 years old when she died. My childhood wasn't always good. I remember I was 8 or 9, before we moved.. and my Mom got mad at Missy or me, I don't remember now but she kicked Missy out the back door. I was hysterical and inconsolable because our yard wasn't fenced in, etc. She wouldn't let me outside with Missy so I sat down inside against the back screen door, crying my f'ing eyes out, and Missy stayed there on the back porch with me, she didn't run off. She whined and cried and pawed. Hours later, she was finally let inside and I was a neurotic miss where she was concerned.
Thank the Good Lord that you had her in your life. I'm sure it feels like losing a sister than a pet. They are our chosen family.

This is how I get my dog TO move. Put my leg on her, or lay my head on her butt. When she's pushing you off rhe couch, or bed, this is an effective strategy.

Interestingly, the study found that dog owners were more likely than cat owners to be outgoing, energetic, and lively, Popyk said.
