Thatched roofs have been used for centuries and not only in the Netherlands. They insulate the house really well. You pay a bit more insurance though because of fire risk. Not straw but thatch.

This is a lot better than many houses in my neighborhood.

this is an historic architecture way which makes edgepoints in an urban setting recognizable and makes for friendly neighbourhoods. It looks like a face though :D

I would live in a house like this. It is a "wink" to the traditional type of small farm houses. And again a thatched roof, nice and toasty.

I think the builder ordered two doors by mistake, and being as it was a clearance sale, he couldn't return one...so he used both.
