After premiering their single “Kukushka” last week, an audio-visual duo from Lithuania called “Roe Deers” now present an animated 3D video clip for it. The video takes you inside a fairytale-like clock that reveals a maze of rusty sprockets and leads to a massive factory, where the cuckoos are made on a monotonous assembly line. One of the birds, however, makes a successful escape, frees itself from its straitjacket and flies out to the world, only to be hit hard by the harsh reality in the end.

The “Roe Deers” project is led by Liudas Lazauskas and Oskaras Gudas, two besties that are often mistaken for brothers. While Liudas is the one who brings their sound to life, Oskaras works on the visual side of the performances. The two developed their “Kukushka” video together with the audiovisual team called “Miracles”.

“Even though ’Kukushka’ shows a rather sarcastic perspective on the reality and the absurdity of our routine, it still leaves plenty of room for interpretation”, – says Oskaras. “The video is far from the regular understanding of animation. Together with the unexpected storyline, it definitely gives you things to think about”, – he added.
